im no expert, but if you bought your router recently, it probably came with some network security software. the way to check it is by logging in to your router. You do this by going into your web browser and typing in the ip address of your router into the address bar. i tihnk you should be albe to find the ip address of the router in the manual. have a look at all the settings on the router and with a bit of luck there might be some security stuff. jsut a bit of general info on wifi security: the most secure is MAC address filtering, this onyl allows the computers you specify to use your network. Next is WEP and WAP this are just different systems where you ave to enter a password, i think WEP is more secure than WAP, but im not 100% And most important, good luck!

Good to know. The developer had that claim on his webpage. Sounds like he needs an update. Another uberOptions returns the scroll setting of 1, 2, 3, 6 lines, or something like that. SetPoint left that out. And he added a few additional little things for many other mice and keyboards. If anyone adds uberOptions, you will have to reset all custom settings. I knew about this plugin before I got the mouse so there was no big annoyance. When installing, you get the option to save your original SetPoint settings. But they definitely are not carried over after adding the plugin.

I have CS3 and Zoomify is already there. I don't remember adding it separately, so presumably the plug-in is for earlier versions.

I have just been reading a lot of interesting stuff on the legalities of this . . it seems they are not hosting anything . . . its just 'links' to other sites (hosts). If simply 'linking' is made illegal then Google themselves well have to tread carefully! These are interesting times we live in for sure!

I have 87 icons / files (small files, normally TXT files) on my desktop, it is set to 1680 x 1050 resolution. I have no problems with SU. I guess it depends on how many processes you have running in the background (how much your OS and cache is taxed). The less the better.

Masta, fortunately the Core 2 architecture is of such a nature that you don't need high speed RAM to get it to perform well. Obviously faster & quicker RAM does benefit, but as you rightly stated, it comes at a premium (not only the RAM but the motherboard as well - DDR3 RAM and motherboards are rediculously expensive still). All 3 machines I've had over the last 10 years I've custom built, I'm fortunate to have friends that help me if / when I can't fix things myself - which seldom happens. Besides, you always have the manufacturer warrentee to fall back on should a component fail.

Danny...cool again! I'm quite happy with the quadro, but after seeing the settings choices and realizing SU isn't really heading this way, I may have opted for the for the GeForce (though your ATI seems to be a screamer too!).

Hi, I've had this problem too, many times, since I got a 24" screen. I didn't know the trick "Alt+Space>M[ove]>direction arrows", the only solution I've found then was to delete the Adobe PhotoShop config files. They are in C:/Documents and settings/your_user_name/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop/your_ps_version/Adobe Photoshop Settings. When you re-start PS, everything is re-initialized and every dialog box stands at the center of the screen (but you've lost your customization too )

Hi, I'm using CamtasiaStudio since 3 years without a problem. This is a VERY good software, especially to build demos and show exercices to students. Go for it ! These little Flash files were done in a matter of minutes, believe me: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=3997

You have not mentioned your graphics card. Is it onboard graphics or do you have a dedicated GPU? 1gb of ram is fine - 2 is better but 1 will run SU without a problem. Your processor is not the most powerful and a better one could see some slight improvement. The thing to remember though, if you are working with 3d trees and plants, even the most powerful of computers will have problems eventually. You need to be smart in the way you do things. Use layers to control visibility of your trees. Moving to the Hardware Forum.

Actually, ATI always insisted that they had full open GL support but it wasnt't true. Many of us had artefacts, including me, when dealing with even hi end ATI cards, in 2001 2002 when I started using SketchUp. ATI support swore they had full open GL support and Jim Holman from SketchUp support remained firm that they did not. I purchased and Nvidia card at the time and all artefact problems cleared. It was explained to me by Jim that ATI only used a subset of open GL at the time, that was necessary for gaming but not everything that was required for 3D modelling applications. So if your ATI card worked for you in 1998 perhaps you just had a fortunate configuration at the time. But I can assure you that it did not work in mine and in many many others.
