I have been using SketchupPro 8 for a few weeks now. (Student license)
All of a sudden it won't open.
Issue message: "Sketchup.exe The application has failed to start because msvct-ruby18.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Question: Should I uninstall then install (Download)?
Also can I use the same serial number and activation Number?

Is there an easy way to reorient (horizontal or vertical) textures or materials.
ex: a wood grain material I have down loaded comes in horizontal, how can I change
it in su to read vertical on a board that is already drawn vertical?

I'M USING Sketchup 8 Pro

Need to construct log cabin (exterior only). I can work with individual logs and copy
and repeat components.
Any tricks to speed it up by doing half logs on a solid wall and allow for cutting in windows and doors.

I am creating scenes for animating a house model. I tried to animate pulling the roof
up to see inside then putting the roof back on and continuing rotating to finish animation.
The pulling the roof up and off and putting it back on didn't record.

Can this be done?

I have downloaded the "window cutting" plugin but it's not showing up in the plugin
drop down.
I have Sketchup pro 6
If there's another plugin for cutting window and door openings through 8" thick walls
I am open to any suggestions.

I am putting together a show off printed portfolio of my work.
Can anyone advise me what's the best export format out of Sketchup jpg,png,tiff, etc, that will give me the best quality prints without jaggies and the like.

I have attached a couple of photos of the interior I am trying to do.
Do you think the vault arch will work for this?

I could use some help in creating compound interior ceiling arches (like those in churches)
I have sketchup pro 6 and tried a number of approaches but with no success.
I can provide a jpg of the interior arches I'm trying to generate if that would help.
The arches start at a point on a wall or top of a column and expand upward and outward towards the ceiling in cove type curves.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
