RoundCorner does not work across component or group boundaries. So it should say 'Invalid (Group or Component). Also, make sure you select the proper edge property (plain, smooth, soft, hidden) to match your selected edges (otherwise it says Invalid (Edge properties).
Finally, if you have edges with more than 2 connected faces, it will also say Invalid.

I don't have Windows 8 and I don't think this is related. Possibly you may want to post a model where you encounter the problem so that I have a look.

      Thanks, I solved the problem!
I was within the editing mode of the component while using RoundCorner, so that was not the problem. It was a simple box, so the number of faces per edge was no concern either.
The problem was indeed the edge property, I switched that and then it worked perfectly. Thanks a lot for the quick reply πŸ˜„.

      Hi Everyone, hi Fredo.
First of all, thanks for the hard work Fredo, you are great! Much of what, to me, makes the SketchUp experience are things that would not be possible without your work. Keep it up!

I have run into a problem with RoundCorner. I have used the plugin before, but since I clean installed Windows 8 on my Computer, it won't work properly anymore. I use SketchUp 13 and I installed LibFredo and RoundCorner over the SketchUcation Plugin Store Extension.
My Problem is that everything is "Invalid" when trying to select edges or faces. When hovering over faces, the cursor simply states "Invalid", but when hovering over an edge it specificaly states "Invalid (Property filter)" (what does that even mean?). I am trying to edit a simple 200cm x 90cm x 14cm box inside a component (while editing the component), which should't be a problem shapewise, since it is pretty much the simplest shape one could edit.
Strangely this problem only occurs when selecting the "Round corners" option. "Sharp corners" and "Bevel edges and corners" work just fine.
      Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for the help πŸ˜„.

I just finished remaking the whole model and I haven't encountered one single problem in the entire process.
I have a question that doesn't have something to do something with the initial topic. I was wondering how I could do this:
      ' curve.jpg
I mean, I know how to explode a curve... but I don't know how to reverse that. Not that I think it really matters... but sometimes an "unexploded" curve would be nice just because its easier to select it (I often explode curves during modeling for convenience in some situations). I somehow never figured that out.

Thanks for the fast reply, here is the file:

      I hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for the help, I stopped working on the model for a while but now I continued. I tried various approaches to the problem, including the ones suggested here, but soon discovered that there was more to my problem than I initially thought. I made a new thread about it here.

Thanks again for your help πŸ˜„.

    • Sketchup went completely insane

Sorry for the unprecise topic name, but I don't even know how I should call the numerous problems occurring in SketchUp lately.
So, I'm working on this model of a comicy fantasy rifle, which will be used in a little game a friend and I are making. I don't think there is anything special about my model, other than maybe that it is composed out of components, which again contain components, which may again contain components and so on and so forth. I don't know weather or not that might pose a problem.
I ran in to some problems with this model earlier in the process of modeling (we stoped working on the game for a while) and posted them here. Unfortunately the suggestions didn't solve the problems I had.
I am just going to upload a couple of pictures of some issues with a short description of what I did, due to a lack of any clue of the problems nature or origin.

This is how my model looks, its a fairly simplistic weapon which can "transform" into multiple modes.
      SketchUp_model.jpg

Problem 1: This is a tiny mistake that caused two faces which should be co-planar to be displaced. This mistake can't originate from me, since the displacement at display is originally 0.0004cm (I scaled the model up by a factor of 100 before I did the measurement in the image)I would/could never work on a scale this small (the weapon model was about 150 cm long).
      SketchUp_problem_1.jpg

Problem 2: This is me, trying to solve problem 1 by moving some faces (selected in the image) up a notch vertically. Somehow, this splits up some adjacent faces so that they can't be merged into one face (deleting the newly created edges causes the face to disappear).
      SketchUp_problem_4.jpg

Problem 3: When I explode all the components and intersect all the faces, this happens (if SketchUp doesn't crash in the process of intersecting all the faces that is). Note how new lines are drawn that don't make sense at all, some lines even get subdivided into something like 100 little pieces and like in problem 2, faces that I try to clean up may disappear as soon as I delete the subdividing lines and won't reappear as long as I don't redraw the subdividing lines, even if the face is perfectly flat.
      SketchUp_problem_2.jpg

Problem 4: When using the Bevel function of the "RoundCorner"-Plugin by Fredo6, this happens. (left: before/right: after)
      SketchUp_problem_3.jpg

Those are just a few examples of how my SketchUp is going mental. I hope for some useful suggestions :S. Thanks for taking your time hearing me out.

    • Tiny errors caused by the tools

Hi, I am new here and glad to introduce myself together with my little problem, which I hope to be able to solve after you provided me with your advice πŸ˜›.
So... I have this problem where the tools I use in SketchUp cause my model to be unprecise on a very small scale. There are a variety of tools with which I noticed those tiny errors. The tools I am talking off are the regular SketchUp modification tools like "Move", "Rotate" and "Push". At first I thought to myself that I had to be the one who made some very small unnoticed mistake somewhere, which caused all these tiny errors all over my model upon me orientating the creation of new geometry on this eventual mistake.
But after I performed some experiments I figured that the tools are actually making mistakes, which doesn't make sense to me at all.
For example: I may create a component, which I would then copy and rotate multiple times around the same point, five times to be precise. Now, there are not a lot of things that could go wrong here, but I am sure that the pivot point of the copied object should be exactly overlaying the corresponding point of the original object, since the pivot point is (logicaly) the only thing that doesn't move when the object is rotated. This however, is not the case. the pivot point allways moves to a slightly different place. This is actually so slightly, one would probably not notice anything until one were to zoom very very closely to the pivot point (or the multiple pivot points in this case 😞 ). Thats only one example. This errors only seem to occur when components are involved, but I am not sure of that.
Now I ask you, WHAT IS WRONG?

      Thanks^^.
