      Hey everyone,

I know there are a million charities out there that you can donate to, but I thought I would call attention to this one.

This project interests me for many reasons; namely I am a student of industrial design, and problems like this are exactly why I got into it. The other is because I am an avid cyclist. I love everything about the sport, and to spread the wealth is what I'm all about!

so check it out, and tell me what you guys think!

    • RE: Breakfast...

I've stopped eating fast food, but unfortunately I can't shake the delivered pizza habit just yet.

for breakfast, I'm not much of a morning person. But I do eat organic Flax cereal every once in a while, that stuff is better than any powerbar or processed food you'll ever find for energy.

      If you're on photoshop,

      select > color range

I found a value around the 70's seemed to work pretty well.

      Hey guys and gals,

just did this render of a fire hall expansion, would've like to have had more time for it, but nonetheless here is what I came up with, comments/crits welcome!

      Rendered in Kerkythea

I really like the style, it fits perfectly!

the only thing that bugged me a little was the perspective. It seems a little extreme, you must have it set around 60 degrees? I think that a 2 point perspective might suit this a little better, but then again thats more of an opinion than anything else.

      Love it!

    • RE: A night at the cabin

I really like the image, but I think that the mountains in the back (in both images) is too strong, I would fade, or grey them out just a little bit to give a feeling of depth to the building.

other than that I absolutely love it!

    • RE: SU + KT + Photoshop Render

She likes the more photorealistic renders, not too big into the sketchy style.

and now that I do look at the image, I'm inclined to agree that the people don't really fit the scene that well, what kind of people would you put in? photoreal with the same effects applied?

    • SU + KT + Photoshop Render

      Hey guys,

This is my latest render, I know it can't live up to any of the greats here, but it's my first attempt at a sketchy/watercolour styled image.

The full process for this image was as such; drawn in Architectural desktop, imported to SU cleaned up, and altered, imported to KT, lights and materials applied, and then filters and effects applied in Pshop.

My boss didn't really like it, but I'm rather fond of how it turned out, please tell me what you think!

that crowd is pretty sweet... I got to scene 9, and then noticed a little chopping, and by scene 11 it was getting a pretty laggy to orbit

I would be happy to donate to keeping the pro forums alive here. although I am stuck halfway between student and professional, I think the occasional donation is not too much to ask.

    • RE: Building a Sketchup Computer... on a $1000 budget. UPDATED

I used to be into the overclocking scene, overclocking everything I got my hands on, from computers, to video game systems, even to my calculator. I learned one lesson from all of it. Computers are delicate machines, that will not be able to sustain being overclocked for long. Instability, lock-ups, and power-downs will all happen to any overclocked computer. guaranteed. if anything, for a computer that I expect to be running stably and for extended periods of time, I would underclock it. not by much, but just enough to run the computer maybe a degree cooler, and slower, that way I know that I will be able to get a long life out of it, and i can expect it to run everything predictably.

I want SketchUp on that badboy... imagine how much that would impress clients throwing massing models around on that in a meeting.

    • RE: Poll: Mac vs PC

An interesting tidbit of information for anyone interested.

Steve Jobs (perhaps one of the smartest and weirdest people in the business of computers) hired a group of people around the time of the advent of the world wide web. Their task was to develop a program that could surf and deal with all of your internet needs. 3/4 of the way through production, Steve pulled the plug because of any number of reasons. Rather than hanging on to the half completed software these folks created, he allowed them to keep it, and go into business for themselves. They finished the program and came out with a company called America Online.

I bet Steve Jobs had a few choice words when AOL merged with Time Warner to become one of the largest Corporations in the United States. lol
