True... but as I hear it, Americans like their version of the show better called 'How do they do it' which explores a few more things than manufacturing

RE: New Fantasy How it's Made Episode!
How its made is a Canadian TV show where they go to factories, and explain the manufacturing process for different everyday objects. I guess they are doing a different style episode by showing how blood and skin are made...
zim, you've got to elaborate a little more, not everyone knows what you're talking aboot (haha Canadian plug)

It'd be pretty cool if you realized these visualizations in SketchUp... you're next tutorial to read up should be the shoebox method... Alan has showcased it a couple of times somewheres...

RE: Google Earth Pro
Hey Craig,
Thanks for the tips! I ended up using the save as with google earth (as this model is for office, and promotional use, it cannot be shared and has to be extra high quality) but! anyone interested, can check out my work at (sorry for the poor quality...their choice not mine);

Go easy on me, this is my first project in SU that I started a year ago, and have had to redo probably once a week!
Thanks again!

Google Earth Pro
Hey everyone,
I just talked my bosses into getting me Google Earth Pro. I was under the impression that I would get colour maps, when I 'get current view' from the pro version... but apparantly I am mistaken? I still only get B&W images... and it seems that I can't take images from as high an elevation as the regular version which is just bizarre...
any ideas?

RE: It won't be long.
my bet would be that google would have opened one group to replace the entire forum, and then just shut down the other forums while they did the migration in the background.
i guess we did make a little difference...

RE: A fun little game.

RE: A question for the music fans
speaking of odd bands, has anyone ever caught 'Death From Above 1979'? its a 2 person band, a bass guitar (who will loop and mix his own samples live) and a drum player, whom also does all the vocals, pretty sweet stuff!
correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the sex pistols also a 3 person band?
and everyone here raise your hand if you're a Dave Mathews Band fan!

RE: Vista
I just did exactly what you've described.
My laptop came with Vista, and immediately I uninstalled it. Threw XP Pro on to it (a little bit of work to find the right drivers, but well worth it) and its worked great ever since! no need for vista until a couple of years down the road, I think anyways.

RE: This post should probably be in the Corner Bar... anyway

RE: What activities do you do?
as a 20 year old with an incredibly fast metabolism I find it hard to lose or gain weight.
I bike to work during the summer, (Im going to start riding in the winter too) Each way its around 11.5 KM so thats a pretty good hours worth of riding every day. I also make sure that I drink plenty of beer and rum, for no other reason than college parties! I am like alan, in that I can't go to gyms for many reasons, mostly because its so boring.I've really found that biking is the best sport that I can do to get in shape.

Next summer WilliamT and I are contemplating riding from Calgary to Vancouver! I think that would be a pretty epic ride to take!
