      Dave,

As long my parts are named it's no problem to dropped at the origin. but it would be nice to have them separated

Yes Dave, all dropped at the 0 origin is perfectly fine, I'm trying to import a Cut Rite program part list and then assemble it in SU.

    • Import A Cut List

      Hi all;

      Can anyone help me Please!

I'm looking for a CSV or XLS Cut List importer, I tried "cloud_v8b" but I couldn't make a simple components list to import into my SU scene. I would like to have each line imported as a separate group, here is a sample of my list..

      ID LAYER X Y Z
      A Layer0 20 10 0.75
      B Layer0 5 5 0.75
      C Layer0 10 10 1

      Thanks!
      Vigy.

    • RE: Variable Rabbet and Dado Depth/Width for a Dynamic Component

      Hi Pcmoor,

I was wondering if there is a way to scale a part in DC the same way “FredoScale/Stretch Target” does, meaning; part should stretch from the center with center details, so any machining engraved in part should move along at the same position and same size. I was stunned to your drawer sides, but I couldn’t imitate it for my panel that needs miter ends, is miter cut possible? Or is the Stretch Target an option? Otherwise I will need to split my part in 3. Please educate me… 🤓
      Thanks, vigy.

Thanks Pcmoor for your respond, but I was referring to something else, Perhaps I didn't explain myself correctly, Sorry! besides I found a relative discussion where you do anticipate so I will continue there…

    • RE: Export/import .dxf with arc/circel

**Here is what I do! (AutoCAD required).

Export your model in 3D DXF/DWG, import into AutoCAD then flatten your model in AutoCAD by using “Flatshot” this will let your geometry stay 'true-circle’ and not collapse to segments. Enjoy!

    • Can dynamic Components be scaled from the center of part?

      Hi there,
Can dynamic Components be scaled from the center of part? So I can insert a hole or a 45 degree cut-out and they should still stay the same position and size?

Please link me if this topic already exists. Thanks!

    • RE: Export sketchup to 3D pdf file?

If you got one of the latest versions Photoshop then you can export your SU model to Google Earth File (.kHz) and then import it to Photoshop and follow the instructions below.

      1. Right click on the 3D layer thumbnail

      2. Select Export 3D layer

      3. Name the file and select U3D from the Format dropdown menu

      4. Click the Save button

      5. The 3D Export Options dialogue box will open.

      6. Make sure that JPEG is selected from the Texture Format dropdown

      7. Use ECMA1 for the U3D Options

The steps above exported the Photoshop layer to a U3D file. The U3D file can now be published to PDF.

      1. Open Adobe Acrobat X
      2. Select File>Created PDF>From File
      3. Browse to the U3D file you saved earlier
      4. An Insert 3D dialogue box will open. Select OK (You may want to check out the “Advanced” options by clicking on the Show Advanced Options check box. There are some neat options to play around with).
      5. Click on your 3D object to interact with it. Also notice the 3D tool bar that appears.

Cool! Now anybody with Acrobat Reader can view your 3D content!
