Problem seems to be solved! Finaly.
Found this in 'Taakbeheer': 'Sketchup does not use a video card - Client software general - GoT - CleanerBrowser'. ComboCleaner, a program I have never installed, was causing the problem.
ComboCleaner is now inactive and Layout makes normal PDF's.

Can I share the LayOut file in a private message to you?
If not, can you assure me I can remove the drawings later this morning?
The architectural drawings are, of course, private and only for my client.

Layout refuses to export drawings to PDF.
That was never an issue before.
Tried this:

• Layout off and on
• PC off and on
• Reduced filesize: kept only 2 pages with architectural drawings
• Layers with dimension off, with text off and with both off
• Removed dimension, removed text, removed both

Other drawing without text can be exported to PDF as normal.

Still working with Sketchup and Layout 2018.. while more recent versions are available (and paid for)... no time for the learning curve to change and waiting for an other OS before installing the new versions.

As always: I need the PDF's and it is urgent.

Who recognizes this problem? What is the cause?
What is the solution?

I have the same problem with the toolbars as Dihe has in Sketchup 2018.
But I also have a bigger problem. Layout 2017 does'nt start up anymore since I installed Sketchup 2018. The Sketchup-icon in Windows 10 does not open Layout 2017. "Send to Layout" in Sketchup 2017 does not work either.
How can I fix this?

I have exactly the same problem as Boothy has: toolbars do not stay in position .

"Pdf to separate pages" integrated in Layout would be the best option.
Meanwhile I use PDFSAM (Windows) to split PDF files. PDFSAM Basic is freeware; http://www.pdfsam.org/pdfsam-basic/
File-names are very easy to manage: http://www.pdfsam.org/customize-file-names/
Also available for Mac and Linux.

Wondering why Sketchup's "Send to LayOut" is not exporting the drawing's XYZ = 0;0;0 to the middle of the page. It would be much appreciated, especially after using Chris Fulmer's great plugin: Center on Origin.
It would be even better when we could choose the XYZ-coordinates to export to the middle of the page in LayOut.

I don't know if I explained it properly... in Dutch it would be easier.

Are you doing alle your work on this laptop? Probably with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor. Do you use it for Sketchup Pro, rendering, Layout and Cad?

After my pc has been upgraded, I'll buy a second monitor(1920*1080) to use as a dual 24" setup. I really do not like little screens, not even on my laptop.

In my practice as an architect I have replaced AutoCad completely with Sketchup Pro and Layout years ago. I am not using rendering software yet, but I intend to do so shortly, although it stays secondary to Sketchup.

Now my pc is getting an upgrade.

This is what I will keep:

• Storage: Samsung HD 1035SJ ATA Device 1TB (+ external storage)
• SSD-storage: Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256 GB ATA Device
• Windows 7 Professional

This is what a friend of mine suggested:

• CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Boxed
• Motherboard: Asus Republic Of Gamers Z97 MAXIMUS VII GENE
• Video Card: GeForce GTX 980 4GB
