Upgrade to 3.4 and you wont deal with any of this anymore.

RE: [Plugin] Animator - v4.5a - 22 Jul 25
Just playing with this for the first time, testing with Thea. Amazing! Fredo, you've made SketchUp the modeling application that we've always wanted it to be. Huge thanks.

RE: V-Ray Wishlist
It's been suggested in the VRay Forums and they hinted that there would be something like this in the 3.5 release... when that drops.

RE: [Plugin][$] RoundCorner - v3.4a - 31 Mar 24
First, this plugin is one of the best. Thanks for all of your hard work. Second, any chance that we can expect a parametric option in the future? I would love to be able to turn off the corners, work, than turn back on, similar to how SubD works. Thanks again!!!

RE: Questions regarding the new V-Ray
It sounded like an update was in the works very soon.

RE: How to set this in Vray 3.4 SketchUp (image attached)?
I'm pretty sure that the color mapping settings are gone to simplify things in SU.

RE: Questions regarding the new V-Ray
1- Swarm is the new name for distributed rendering - same deal - you need node$$$
2- Its a BIG missing feature that I am sure they are working on bringing back asap
3- yep - that's the beauty of no more dongle -

RE: Proxy issue with Vray 3.4
I had a similar issue was able to resolve by placing the MultID material directly to the proxy faces of the component.

RE: V-Ray 3 for SketchUp released
Take note that this is still using the 3.4 engine and we do not have the full interactive production engine that is currently in 3.5 for Max. Meaning - that there are some missing features in GPU as of right now that we need to wait for 3.5 for.
Here's the release notes for 3.5 Max just as an idea of what is to come potenitally.

RE: V-Ray 3.0
If you have 2.0 you should have a dongle. That was their only licensing system. How were you running 2.0 without one?

RE: Vray 3.4 Indirect Ilumination - Saturation
I think that it was probably improved because the bleed was inaccurate.

RE: V-Ray 3 for SketchUp released
I don't think it will use both. The website says, "V-Ray includes two powerful rendering engines. With CPU or GPU acceleration, you can use the best engine for your project and hardware."
Interactive render does run pretty quick on my TitanX card and I hope to upgrade to the 1080Ti in the coming weeks.
Also, once they get the 3.5 update implemented in SketchUp, you will see big speed improvements I think.
Fur and sections are very nice additions and so is aerial perspective. This ain't your grandaddy's 2.0 version, that's for sure and if you are using 1.4 you will probably fall over at your desk. The Chaos team has been working on this for a long time and a lot of those old pesky bugs have been completely eradicated since they built the entire thing from the ground up.

RE: V-Ray 3 for SketchUp released
Congrats to the Chaos team on this long awaited release!

RE: The odd "closed by not proper working face" problem
Yep, we've all been there and it is painful. Usually this happens with imports from AutoCAD. I usually run ThomThom's Flatten script in his Architect Tools set, just to make sure everything is on Z=0. Then I use S4U's Make Face script. Most of the time this works, but you might need to find little unconnected gaps, in this case, try ThomThom's Edge Tools.

RE: Can you substitute profile faces in existing follow me objec
Invest in Profile Builder. It's one of the best plugins I have come across. I cant live with out it!

RE: Open street map and sketchup?
Beware, I have used this data in the latest version of Lumion and it's not really that great. Seems to have no 3D topo information and the buildings heights are limited or non existent for most areas.

RE: VRay 3: Understanding the sun
My understanding is that VRay 3 is in private beta. If you are a beta tester, questions should be posted on the Chaos forums. If you are not a tester, then you should not have a copy of VR3.

RE: Time of day wrong in render
Are you using a dome light?
Provided that you are using the VRaySky, the sun should match SU exactly.

RE: Recreating Pen and Ink style drawings using SketchUp, Skalp,
I would export my linework and bring into Photoshop and add the various hatching styles there, especially the shadowing hatching. Not sure how you do that inside of SketchUp.
