RE: Concrete cracks & pitting
I think the best way to achieve this effect would be to go the texture route vs. the geometry route.
There are some good concrete textures in the materials section of this website. Somebody linked a bunch of material resources in a thread.....they are all free....
Here's one: http://www.textureking.com/index.php/category/concrete

Importing pdf problems- File naming
I have been using Layout for my presentations at work lately.
I make pdf's of my Word and Excel files, and then insert the pdf's as clean, crisp images into my layout document.
I then use clipping masks, create borders, center the images, etc.....
The problem arises when I need to make changes to the original word or excel file. I will modify it, re-save the .pdf (overwriting the file) and re-insert it into the presentation.
For some reason, Layout remembers the information in the old file and doesn't update correctly.
I have to name the file slightly differently in order to have the changes take effect correctly.
It's not a big deal because I have a work around, but can somebody please help me understand why Layout "remembers" the information on the old file, even when it has been clearly saved over.....
I can't figure it out for the life of me....

RE: Looking for .skm libraries....
I completely uninstalled it.
I thought it was just taking up space, being an older version of the same program.....
I had to track down all of the ruby scripts as well....
Total idiot.....

Looking for .skm libraries....
I am looking for new material libraries to download.....
I just upgraded from sketchup 6 to 7 pro and I lost all of my materials. I should have thought about copying the materials files but I didn't.....
The post by cadmastr in this forum was excellent. But all it did was wet my appetite.
I'm annoyed that google hasn't released their bonus material pack yet. Get some techie to spend five minutes on it and make it available. Hell, I'll pay for it, just make it available.
Anyways,- does anyone know of anymore .skm libraries that are available for download similiar to the one posted by Cadmastr?
Additionally, if you live in Chicago and would make your comprehensive/organized library available, I will happily compensate you.
Happy Friday.....
