Hi guys,
Im running SU 8 on Mac, with VRay 1.49.01.
I am having some very annoying problems with vray materials. I build a model and create or import vray materials with bump/reflection etc... these all work fine when they are initially created. However, when I save, close and open the model another time all my material settings (bump, reflection etc) are all gone, all i am left with is the diffuse map. I have read other posts and realise that this was a problem with previous versions of VRay, however it was supposed to have been fixed with this version. I have tried the technique of opening the options window before closing, but this does not work. I have tried testing with new model with a basic box and applying materials, saving and reopening and only on one occasion of about 10 attempts has the material successfully loaded.
various people have suggested in previous topics that its because the materials were created in older versions of Vray. However, I cannot believe that all materials suddenly become redundant with the new version. It also does not explain how I managed to load the material with one of my test models.
Can anyone shed any light on this subject? ... I'm getting very frustrated at work having to constantly reload all my materials every time I open a file!
Thanks,
Tim
