I've recently upgraded my Macbook to 2 gig of ram. Latest version of 10.4 OSX Downloaded sketchup and started making some little drawings. The commands hang or won't switch, I can't erase lines till I erase the second line then the first goes away. I also can't get it to print the whole drawing. I checked to see if I had somehow gotten into more that one layer but its all on one layer. Even the preview does not show all the drawing. I've also erased SU and then reinstalled to no avail.
I have noticed that at least in my case SU does not play well with and open browser FF or Opera.

RE: Newbie and complete idiot I guess
If I draw a circle at the origin of the three axis. draw a line up the blue axis and then an arc. then select the circle, then the follow me about three inches up the screen form where i start with the select tool it draws the "tube" so to speak. Is the drawing screen suppose to be brown and then green about 2/3 of the way up??

don't know about your mousetracks, but sometimes you need a little helper geometry on your screen to get your inferences going.
When my screen is empty and I need to rotate something I draw a smallish square then Push Pull it into a cube. Now when I need to rotate, I use the face of the cube to lock inference , when the rotate tool turns the right color, hold down shift then move it to the object i want to rotate and flip-it.
HTH, if not post back.Hi Hank
I Use to live up in Leadville. Anyway I can rotate the circle 360 no problem around the red axis but I can't get it to rotate 90 to the blue axis If I move the compass up the screen it turns green and rotates (just the compass)90 degrees. Being new I'm just following that little tutorial. can't believe its that difficult. And not knowing anything its hard for me to try and describe what I'm doing I guess and not understanding you at all I guess I need a nanny:) Funny thing is I can do Autocadd LT. Maybe my brain won't think 3D -
Newbie and complete idiot I guess
I have a Macbook with SU6. I read the tutorials, have watched several of the go-2-school pod-casts. First time i tried to draw a circle. As soon as I moved the cursor off the circles tool to the drawing area I got hundreds of blue and red circle's like mouse tracks. I reopened SU and read till i got to the tutorial on making a sphere. I can copy the circle but when I try to rotate 90 degrees I can't get it done. I have watched and tried the little demo for over and hour. Am i really this stupid????. I can get the circle to swing up 90 from an arc but not rotate up 90.
