This is a very nice start Stu πŸ˜„

Just a couple of things, as Dylan said, nice touch on the ridge line. Some thickness to the roof tile in the gables would bring some more oopmf πŸ˜‰ and is it me or is that potted plant out of scale? I think it's actually larger then the table and chairs πŸ˜•

    • RE: [Tutorial] Create a (TIN) from Surveyed Pts - using SU only

This is great information. I could have really used this last month when I was pulling my hair out tracing contour lines and raising each individual line AND THEN trying to mesh them together!

      This is great!

    • RE: How do people use SketchUp skies.

I hardly ever have sky turned on. I usually mess with backgrounds/skies in PS or Piranesi.

    • RE: A night at the cabin

Tom, thanks. Yes, lighting would be crucial if I ever finish these. At the time, I didn't want to put too much time into them if the client wasn't going to pay for those views. So I presented them as "shells", no pretty stuff. But for portfolio sake, I'm going to revisit all of these drawings some day and finish/change them to the way I wanted them to be! LOL That's why I've come here to get advise and comments.

Thank you all soooo much. I'm actually getting a hankering to work on these again.... in my spare time, ha-ha-ha.

      Bernard,

I agree! I tried to sell the client on a couple of interior views, but he wasn't interested. I didn't finish them, but these were some of my initial ideas.

I totally agree about the cabin site. The client made me go back and add more... TWICE!!! 😲

Sorry, I haven't replied... deadlines, kid's school field trips... it's a wonderful life.

I'm going to try the suggestions. The different color on the fog, sounds like a good idea, and Maggy, yes I need to shade the heli model, thanks.

      todamgood4U... thank you πŸ˜‰

helicoptors... not my area of expertise, tried to make it look less cartoonish, but unsuccesful and unfortunately could not lose it since it is part the owner marketing the project.

Thank you for your comments. Seems as though it is missing some kind of "glow" but I can't seem to figure out how to get it.

    • A night at the cabin

I...I... was all alone.... and I couldn't find anyone.... and, and... 😒

It took me awhile to figure it out, duh.... but I found the herd. Glad to see you all again, I thought I'd been abandoned.

This is a "cabin" if $6m is considered a "cabin". I was hired to do a conceptual and then render as if on site. The owner had a specific shape he wanted and I was to "make it up" from there. The backgrounds are pivotal, as usual in the area where i work.

My dilemma. I want to do a dusk setting. I know this is not a PS or Piranesi Forum (the other programs I work in), but I thought there might be some helpful hints from the Wizards.

I have purchased the Buzz Simplifier from Fo2pix (as advised from another user that i can't remember, but THANK YOU) So my hope for the end result would be {romantic}.

    • RE: Are you 'good'?

Hey Guys, I moved this to the corner bar. Typically the SU forum is to discuss topics specific to the use of SU.

PS. I am not "good" by that standard! That's a pretty high expectation πŸ˜„
