All the solutions that we have come across redraw the SU model in another program. I really thought that with the on-line version they would have come up with something sooner. I can't believe this was 7 years ago. It must be complicated with a major stumbling block otherwise one of the DC guys would be on it like a shot, a big market in my eyes. Good luck with your models.

RE: Product configurator embedded in a web page from a DC
Hypercosm is now freeware and hasn't been updated since 2011, they are looking for partners but I think tech has moved on.
3DVia looks more promising and I am waiting for a reply from them. -

Thanks Tig.
I shall look into this further. -

RE: Product configurator embedded in a web page from a DC
For example a pergola for a garden, we have a DC that changes the length, the width, the height, the end shape of the rails etc. While we can do this in SketchUp our goal would be to be able to do this inside a browser so that a customer could self configure the exact size and shape they want and have a price instantly, along the lines of the two examples, Driveworks canopy is a great example.
I guess I am asking for the "scant chance of doing it all 'outside of SketchUp' without custom coding in the extreme" option.
Do others have an interest in this? -
Product configurator embedded in a web page from a DC
I would dearly like any news or your thoughts upon the likelihood or otherwise of being able to create a product configurator embedded in a web page from a dynamic component made in SketchUp.
Notable examples are DriveWorks pro with Solidworks and 360 configurator with inventor but too expensive for us unfortunately unless we could find a bureau service.
http://www.configuremyproduct.com/ take a look at the shelter, great.

How to create a menu item to open a file
Can anyone point me in the right direction to create a custom menu to open our range of dynamic components in SU 2013. We have a number of dynamic components e.g. a pergola and I want to create a menu that is hard coded to the server so that everyone uses the latest version of each file. It sound so simple but I can't find Any info on how to go about it.

RE: E-on-Lumenrt render for Sketchup
Panga E-on forums are back up now.
You can also open a ticket to the feedback center.
Hope that helps.

RE: E-on-Lumenrt render for Sketchup
Just got Microsoft Kinect to navigate around my latest model in LumenRT with guestures only!
It works really well IMHO.
I shall test and maybe change some of the gestures.
Nice program! Well done e-onsoftware.
Has anyone else hacked the Kinect for the PC? -

It seems that QuadroFX cards are not supported ! I tried to launch one of the boxes available for download on their website, and it's not workink with my Quadro FX 1800...
I have no problem and use a Quadro FX 1700. I do have 8meg of ram. It works beautifully for me. All the models I have rendered are acceptable most really good. Beware high quality can take an age. Plants need to be low polygon.
I will definately use this as part of my SU Vue Max pipeline. I would like a range of materials that can be applied in SU, work really well in LumenRT and then translate to Vue materials when imported into Vue so you really get continuity.
I hope that is of interest. -
RE: [NEW]Sketchup 2 Vue

RE: [NEW]Sketchup 2 Vue
Getting on well with Vue 9 ple today it opend .vob files exported out of SU8, just can't load into Vue 9 complete. This is pretty irritating having spent so much money. Any suggestions?

RE: [NEW]Sketchup 2 Vue
Dave et al, Can you shed some light on my predicament. I have SU to Vue exporter, SU 8 and Vue 9 Complete. I load vob file from SU and it shows up in the layer pane and I can see the materials but I can see the scene. I select it and right click to select 'frame selected object' but can see anything. I re-scaled the model in case this was a mm to m problem but to no avail. I unchecked 'preserve size of elements at creation' check box again to no avail. I have tried via the python script.
This is so annoying as I can see that it has been imported, its just I can see or manipulate it. Any tricks? Thoughts or work around I have run out of ideas. I really need something like zoom extents or a positioning tool so that it fits in the scene where I want it.
Please tell me that I am missing something obvious.
Thanks T -

Hi Tim, when you say "latest downloads" do mean Vue 8 or just the latest downloads of your earlier Vue versions?
Thanks for the follow up Dave, I tried 8 complete and also 8.5 ple and trial version, don't tell me they only work with registered versions?
The pc spec is useful, I aim to start with 12 meg and move on to 24 when the system works well. -
RE: [NEW]Sketchup 2 Vue
Thanks for the upgrade info Dave. I used the latest down loads plus SU 7 & 8. I have had no luck reading the vob files so I have removed every vue version and cleaned my machine and intend to do a clean install when 9 is released. Max imports Sketchup really well now so with Xstream + the plugin I have two paths I suppose.
Any thoughts on a machine spec? what do you use at e-on? -
RE: [NEW]Sketchup 2 Vue
Dave can you please clarify the upgrade options if the complete 8 version is purchased now? I started with vue 3 upgraded to 4 and then have tested every version since, but never found a stable enough set up to justifying purchasing. However, I have just purchased the new exporter that I am delighted to see but unfortunately can't get to work. It produces unreadable vob files or the python script yields only a dome, both problems are noted on the cornucopia forum by others too. This is even without textures. I would like to progress to 9 infinite or xstream if I can get the export to work seamlessly.
I use Max and Bionatics at the moment but struggle with grass, ground cover and clouds; why Bionatics didn't ever produce a complete solution amazes me. I could also do with a couple of suggested system specifications to cope with SU 8, Vue 9 & Max 2011. I hope that 2011 is going to be the year that I finally buy Vue software again!
Many thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear of tough times. Can I suggest Vue as they do a free version. SU Vue Max make a great team for when you get the resources. Cheers T
