      Fredo

I have a lot of scripts = a lot of toolbars with 1 single icon. I want to combine some of these in 1 toolbar. That's why I'm asking if there is method to obtain name and command to start someones script (most are coded). I hope this is not against rules.
This is a general question, not only about your tools.

      Thank You !!!
      One more general question:
Is it possible to inspect commands activated by buttons inside ruby console?
"Listener mode" of the console or something, that will show/expose these code lines from your answer?

      Hi Fredo6
Is there a code I can use to put only one (or more) scale tool(s) on my own toolbar. For example "Box Stretching"?
I will put icon on my toolbar, but don't know how to start particular tool from your suites. Is there any documentation about this?

Are you talking about "Material Replacer" ?

'Remove material from All...' is inside Thomthom "Material Tools"

NOT tottally sure wot yuou are ALL on about tho there is some hint of programming a mouse to SU that would be nice to no ,,+ my little issue that --if PAN is selected WHEEL BUTTON can ORBIT (IF you have
wheel button) so ,if ORBIT is sellected . wheel button could PAN ,and mine does,nt ,,+ has anyone
usefull knowledge with PROGRAMMABLE MICE and SU ..JON..

      Download 'X-Mouse Button Control' from:
      https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm
There is a portable version too.

Make a profile for SketchUp for upper half of the window, for "Middle Button" use 'simulated keystroke' and add {SHIFT}{MMB}. This way your mouse middle button will activate PAN in upper half and ORBIT in lower half of SU window. You can assign different key strokes for every quarter of a window if you wish, and even additional strokes for toolbar areas.

My mouse is with side scroll and if I assign different keystrokes for TiltWheelLeft, TiltWheelRight, WheelUp, WheelDown for every quarter + toolbar area I will have 20 different tools activated by middle mouse button (+ pan & orbit & zoom reserved for 'Middle Button' action).
      Without side scroll I will have 10 tools/keystrokes + pan & orbit & zoom.
Pretty good for a simple mouse.
Actually I use only few and my side buttons(button4 & button5) are reserved for Undo/Redo in every program I use, but they can be customized same way too.
'X-Mouse Button Control' is useful tool. A lot more can be made with button actions as there are additional options.

There are 2 overlapping warning windows in SU 2018. Anyone to confirm?

In "Metric world" it is usual length to be measured in cm or mm, but area in sq.m or bigger units (not sq.cm or sq.mm) that's why in "Model Info > model units" must be separate independent field for area units.

    • RE: Size editing ?

All I show in my first post is absolutely possible in SketchUp.
There is a script "Get Dimensions" by Jim Foltz
showing correct size for bounds of groups and components.
A script from Fredo6 "Best fitting bounding box for for a single face" (for 2d elements).
Scripts to show size of edges (or lines).
(Single drawing elements can be added to "single element groups" inside scripts to extract size with above mentioned tools too).
I wander why such a tool did not exist if so widely wished.
A tool that collects size info for every drawing element.
(I know it will duplicate some of the Entity info fields, but it is OK if the objective is to collect size information in one place.)
I'm trying to put all above in a single info label, but my knowledge in programing is too poor.
Is there anyone to help with code? ("Help" in my case = someone to write the script)
For now I imagine it as small label on screen updated on selection change - like this:

      Label.jpg

Area, volume, names can be added too, but I try to make it as small as possible, so may be as optional rows in the above label.
Next step will be a dialog, and changing size (input) to act as resize/scale (relative to current axis location for components and groups).

BTW - a lot of Fredo work has to be implemented as native functions in SketchUp.

A lot of scrips and extensions are doing a lot of things.
Topic is for something different > handles or hot-spots, ready for use, like rotation handles when mouse is over.

    • Push/Pull hot-spots

Push/Pull is the heart of SketchUp and one of the major tools.
When we hover over a face with 'Move Tool' there are 4 red crosses ('hot spots') used to activate Rotation.
What about similar 'hot spots' to activate Push/Pull ?
(One 'hot spot' for a face is enough, can be located anywhere.)

    • RE: [Plugin] Mirror

      Mr. TIG
What about another version of this tool ? Let's call it '1-click Mirror'
Cursor snaps to nearest selection bounds plane (or if 'Ctrl' or 'Shift' pressed to worlds x, y or z planes at pick point),
Click and .. that's all. No prompts, no questions. Just 1 click.
      As option:
Cursor as transparent rectangle for visual presentation of mirror plane.
In 2d projections cursor is a line presenting a plane perpendicular to view plane.
New mirrored object is selected after operation and eventually move tool activated for additional positioning.(?)

Similar to current 3point Mirror mode but plane is predefined by bounds of selection. No additional angles, only pure mirror in local (&/or world) x, y, z.( Even z-mirror is rarely used in my opinion and can be omitted-???)

May be I can do it by myself, but it will take me few weeks or months, a lot of digging inside incomplete documentation and few hundred SketchUp testing restarts.

Do you have similar code to highlight local bounding boxes (including those inside groups and components)?

    • Push/pull (or drag) with increment ?

In scripts when we drag with mouse, code looks like:

      view.draw_line startPossition, endPossition

'start Position' is defined by click, 'end Position' is moving with mouse.
Is it possible while dragging mouse to snap on every next 0,5cm or 1cm (for example) instead of smooth dragging.
What code can I use to obtain such a behavior?

Thank you CadFather. So answer of my question is: anyone can extract these and others using console? Any additional explanations for integers? I'm just curious.
      (Error: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `definitions' for nil:NilClass>)

Please, tell me what to do to activate 'Simple scale handles' automatically for every file permanently?

P.S. My next question will be: Why size of objects is so difficult to extract and show in some kind of info panel, this is strange, too strange.

Thank you for this great plugin!
Is it possible to add something like Sepia mode (I imagine it with slider controlling yellowness)
Another good effect is De-saturated mode (saturation is about 5-10% for all colors instead of 0% as seen in HSL when in GreyscaleMode).
Again - Thank you for the excellent plugin.

P.S. Sepia mode is inside the script but not exposed. After small edit of script I see "Sepia" looks OK too πŸ˜†

If visual size control is so difficult, SketchUp core needs deep programming update/rewriting.
