lazy google, not even a text line from basecamp at http://sketchupdate.blogspot.com/
we expected too much for a video life coverage of the event.
thanks to SCF members that post more info

I tried the same path when I played with video textures - I ditched the idea as it is slow and dont have all the control needed for video playback.
how about having 10 images stiched on horizontal and then play with UV mapping - this way will not waste time in drive access/image decompress/material assignment. also it will load the big texture in GPU and it will be faster.
the disadvantage is that you need a preprocessing stage to stich the images
it all depends on how much work Google wants to do
openGL ES, which is used on mobiles, is a bit different than openGL we use on desktops, so it needs some work for a port.
... but a model viewer would be nice (and not that much work compared to SU port)
now give us the lat/long so we can watch the street view to see you drinking the beer
see Move Tool help
think that / is more for creating copies at an equal distance apart than a calculator.
found out that we can move things to [x,y,z] - nice.
sorry Todd for the hijack.
working on Windows with SU 6.4.112, Java 1.6.0_10 beta 13
plot-paris: possible. is what Adam referred with radial menu
for dezip see code.plugins.ro
I hope that in SU7 we will have an API for accessing .skm file
dezip library for SU Ruby - download
it can be used to check .skm files and unzip textures
it will evolve in a .skm sometime - if anyone wants to jump in, feel free
maybe redirecting SU plugins related methods for non common api (capi?) and creating a database of running plugins ? I will go for a keyboard search interface
plot-paris: urgh. you need to download JRuby first to be able to run processing for ruby.
if you want to play with processing I suggest processingjs - it is in your browser (Firefox | Safari), there are even IDE already (e.g. obsessing) that allows quick testing without any install (and configuring)
if you want to learn ruby dont go the processing way - they are two different things (and much more complicated imho). I would go with Learn to Program
you can put your SketchUp models (via kml/Collada) on it as well.
ps. python author (Guido van Rossum) works at Google
also it is easy to go phyton after you played with ruby (and vice versa)
http://code.google.com/apis/earth/
"The Google Earth Plug-in and its JavaScript API let you embed Google Earth, a true 3D digital globe, into your web pages. Using the API you can draw markers and lines, drape images over the terrain, add 3D models, or load KML files, allowing you to build sophisticated 3D map applications."
so it will be possible to add your SU models in a page (still needs a downloadable plugin though)
Jim: I am in - asked for it several times. also tried to gather all in T3L site (now defunct) along other tips and tricks.
maybe we can add around SU Ruby Depot also a section for ruby workarounds and small snippets to make our lives easier.
one idea is to start a wiki and gather ideas we should implement. any volunteers ?
pages is like the light part of sites (... think of it, it is true )
in sites you can have attachments and more modules (spreadsheats, docs, gadgets, ...)

daiku: dont reinvent the wheel, extend it
here is my old 2004 script for start
lewiswadsworth: any pics from AIA ? want to see how the big Podium renders came out
Adam: I put SU on core 0 and 3 and both cores were running at 85-95%
Al: max was 45% on all 4 cores
