RE: Any interactive sketchup to communicate with users?
client based - it works only on the user machine
server solution - you need a computer (www address) where the user connects to see your designs -
RE: Any interactive sketchup to communicate with users?
webdialogs are client based, you need a server solution. best is to export your models (this way you can cache it) and show them (maybe even using web exporter)

RE: [Plugin] Video on a face using textured material
not yet. I am still keeping it private for the moment for when I get some time to extend it. but I think I will open it as the free time is nowhere in sight

RE: [REQ] sketchup image sampling
tried to bump the resolution bigger than 1024 - no luck (crashes in nvidia drivers).
and yes, there is no difference in SU output if you add a 1024x1024 texture or a 3000x3000 one (besides making the .skp bigger and the 3000 badly rescaled )

RE: [REQ] sketchup image sampling
it's done internaly in Sketchup and there is nothing we can do from outside (except hijacking their openGL calls)
-
RE: A ruby request: select similar
took a quick look on wings3d sourcode (in erlang) and seems that similar command does a tolerance on face area, which can be done easily in SU via
face.area.between?(selected_face.area - tolerance, selected_face.area + tolerance)
we can add a check if it has the same normal as an optional
