      Note

      • current version runs under Windows only
      • some certain tools conflict with SketchyPhysics plugin

Do you have plans to make this available for Mac? If so, any idea as to how soon?

      Thanks!

Another trick is to make a transparent PNG and use that as a material texture - then even with its opacity=100% it will remain transparent and cast shadows [unless you remove those properties from an object]... However, like a 'transparent' material it will still not receive shadows. It can be as transparent as you like*** but with opacity at 100% and it will always cast shadows...[attachment=2:3iq83owp]<!-- ia2 -->TransparencyStudy.PNG<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:3iq83owp] ***Here's a skm that is completely transparent - you can edit it's PNG material to say 10% opacity to look more like the example I showed... I downloaded your Transparent_Dummy.skm file from an older post and have placed it where I believe it should reside, however, you can see the file icon appears extremely different than the others located there? The file/image does not appear as an option select in the material browser.

      Is the file corrupt?

      Thanks.

I apologize, that should have been FFD free form deformation. Actually, SSD would be smooth subdivide, actually what Blender calls a modifier.

      Gotcha'. Thanks.

There was actually a thread a few years back on creation of a panel very much like your image. I don't know how easily it could be retrieved. It was definitely before Artisan, and I don't think SSD was part of it either. But, why not? πŸ’š

I recall seeing something as well (or is it wishful thinking?) Pardon my ignorance ... what is SSD?

    • Recommended plugin or tool?

I'm curious as to which SU plugin or tool people think might be the best to use to create a sculpted 3D wall panel like the one attached?

Sounds promising. Is this limited to the PC format only?

All of OpenStudio works on Mac, Windows, and Linux, except off course there is no Linux SketchUp plugin. Linux was important for OpenStudio to take advantage of super computers and cloud computing for optimizations and parametric analysis. A single simulation takes just a few minutes, and you can run as many at a time as your have cores on your machine, but If you want to run a few thousand simulations you probably I don't want to use your machine. Of course that scale is more researcher vs, practitioner. A parametric GUI is tue in 3-6 months.

      Great. Thanks David.
