Hi Pilou. Do you know where you got this image? I'm working on a project which will use a similar construction, and would love to get some details of the Great Court!
Thanks!

RE: A Stunning CGI film
Saw this the other day. Absolutely breathtaking.
The Milwaukee Art Museum scenes, to me, are the best. It's such a powerful scene. (Too bad the real thing doesn't do it that quickly)
If someone could render that well on Sketchup...

RE: First Vue Render
Those are great, and given that they are like first renders, very nice!
How long did it take to render that?
It would be so nice to learn Vue properly in conjunction with Sketchup, but I don't think I'd know where to begin! Which version of Vue are you using? Is there much of a difference between say xStream and Infinite?

RE: Still lovin' the hell out of TwilightRender UPDATE-01/01
To be honest, I think 10 trees per set sounds like sufficient variety.
So if I'm interpreting the images correctly, the leaves are all face-me images?
Also, how kind of computer specs do you have and how smooth do the models of the trees rotate and pan on your computer? I have an i7 computer with a Quadro FX1700 graphics card but I also have a weedy laptop that cannot handle much, which I use quite often also.
Thanks! Keep us updated

RE: Still lovin' the hell out of TwilightRender UPDATE-01/01
Absolutely loving these!
I must pick up the pack when it's finished! Are they all Oak trees or are they different ones? I would love to have a pack of various different trees that are found throughout UK, so maybe some Maple, Silver Birch, Willows, etc. Ooo... A Willow would be very nice

RE: Renders of Romanesque Monastery
Wow! Fantastic renders and great superimposing! The first and last one look like paintings! Very realistic paintings. The second one seems a little flat maybe?
Fantastic stuff!

Cultural Centre
Hey guys. Just wanted to show you a Uni project I've been working on. The brief is to design a Centre for Contemporary Culture in Amsterdam. The site is opposite the Rijksmuseum.
From being in Amsterdam, I felt that there was a lot of movement - it was very busy. I wanted to create a space to break up that movement and hence the plaza space. On the site itself, the existing building had a very opposing force against the canal, so I wanted to create a more sympathetic approach to the canal, similar to the other side of the canal. The building form is representative of the undulation of the water. The structure would be a steel tessellated structure that would have glass infill panels and LED lights in the panels to show videos with light. The wall surrounding the plaza is a glass wall made of panels laminated together to form an obscured view to the video, drawing curiosity to pedestrians. The building itself is going to be a transport exhibition as a representation of movement in the city.
Modelled in Sketchup, rendered in Vray, PP in Photoshop
C&C welcome

RE: Sketchyphysics vehicles rendered with Twilight (UPDATE)
Fantastic! It looks like it could be the graphics from a game!
How did you do the material for the ground?
I'm very impressed! Every once in a while, people amaze me by expanding on the capabilities of Sketchup!

RE: How would one model this?
Yes the structure would be faceted, using flat panels. I already have Subdivide and Smooth, but looking at Sculpt, I think using Sculpt and Sandbox would be the more ideal solution.

The .pdf opened for me. What is the structure going to be? It's a very odd juxtaposition against the traditional architecture.
It's going to be a centre for contemporary culture in Amsterdam. Architecturally, I've tried to create a sympathetic structure to the canal adjacent to the site, but having a solid structure towards the busy and noisy street. The structure itself is suppose to be a representation of the water.
I didn't think of using sculpt. Thanks!

RE: How would one model this?
Thanks Tig.
Don't know why the link doesn't work for you. It works fine for me... I've attached it directly this time. Hopefully it works.
I'll try out the other plugins! Thanks!

How would one model this?
Hey guys. I'm currently working on a Uni project and I have a large curved facade that I thought I could create with the Soapskinbubble plugin, but I'm finding it more difficult than I thought.
Below is a pdf of the plans and elevations of what I'm trying to create (just the curved bit). If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Guggenheim Design It Shelter Competition

They told me that too the first time I submitted it - when I sent it back with an image showing the square footage of the floor area was within spec they apologized telling me that they'd sent me a rejection intended for someone else. I just don't think they know how to accurately measure internal shelter floor space. Good luck with your re-submission - your model deserves to be seen.
Well... thing is, mine actually was a bit too large. I thought it was correct, but I must've somehow changed it without knowing.
Thanks for that! It means a lot! Your's looks good too! Very detailed modelling I must say!

This is my one
A blind/hide is such a great idea under the restrictions of the competitions rules - why didn't I think of that? I really like the simplicity of your design and that huge window that seems to funnel in the view. Great work!
Thanks a lot!
Let's hope they'll accept it. I had to resubmit because it was a tad bit too large.

RE: Silvershadow's Eye Candy 3 - H.M.C.S SNOWBERRY
That is an incredible amount of work mate! Thank you for sharing this with the SU community!! You really have taken SU to the next five levels!
I will definitely be taking a look at your model! (Then probably cry afterwards)
Also, probably the best topic for me to be making my first post on these forums!
