I hope you dont mind if i have a go at answering this, im a bit of an idigo fan myself. Basiaclly it has most of the features youd find in maxwell, and a better interface with SU than maxwell. Materials setup is very simple in most cases, although ti still has the ability to do very compex things like SSS and displacement. Whaat (the exporter developer) is also very active in developing new plugins to keep us up to date with the altest goings on. And best of all it's free!

@steelers05 said: Thanks guys. Yeah the refelctions where added in Photoshop and the cut out job as well. Im not gonna lie, there was a significant amount of post processing, as you can probably tell from the images, but it seemed to work out considering that im still not the greatest at photoshop. I'd say you did a fine job.

From what i remember of max, I think what your looking for is referred to as intersect with model, if you want to cut a shape into one with other, then right click on the one shape you wish to carry out the cut making sure it is inside the group of the target shape. I hope this helps, i've just made it sound far more complex than it actually is, this is a very powerful and often over looked function of SU. all the best Matt

Thanks for the crits guys. Remus, the lens flares are agreeably too distracting, they were just to play around with lighting affects in PS. I would definately not put them in a final rendering. And damn Julius, I didnt think anyone was going to catch that about the untensils. They definately give off a blueish reflection. I think it has something to do with the refraction layer for my glasses. But good catch. Im gonna try to fix that.

Ahh thank you. That was my goal with about half of those shots. I like to do that a lot with rendering...give a view that allows you to see the room and what is going in on in a realstic viewpoint and give other views that make you not only see the room differently but FEEL the room and design and what it is about. Thats how I like to design too.

Very nice mate! Glad you decided to save some water! I think Tinanne's suggestion to reduce the recessed lighting is a good idea! I decided to post some of my own maxwell renderings on the forum here now and hope I don't get shot down! Keep posting mate I like your style! Richard
