RE: Graphic Card...Again
Remus,
That is what I've thought about, so here goes my gamble. I'll be thinking and let you know what happens everyone. Thanks for the great advise.

RE: Graphic Card...Again
Ok, what do you think about an EVGA e-GeForce 8800Ultra 768MB Video Card? I found one for $450, does that sound right?

RE: Graphic Card...Again
Pete, are you out there, calling Pete. Do you know if the machine running the 8800 gtx's in SLI are significantly faster than the single?

RE: Graphic Card...Again
Now thats interesting Brian. Hummmmm! Having a hard time here.

RE: Graphic Card...Again
I have been able to find a GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB. I think this will be the one unless someone pipes up and says for not to.

RE: Graphic Card...Again
Your absolutely right Stu, it's a very frustrating thing. I feel like I'am gambling regarding my choice for a graphics card. I guess there is only so much research one can do and then you just have to take the plunge.
By dog, you mean good, right? I'm not sure what the difference is.

RE: Graphic Card...Again
That is what I was looking for someone to say. My associates is awesome with Sketchup. That confirms my findings and so I'm getting one, I'm just not sure I can find one. What about the 9800 GTX would that be equivalent or not? Thanks Pete!
Edit: Hey Pete, I found an 8800 Utra 768mb, is that the same or equivalent?

Graphic Card...Again
Ok, I know that there are some threads regarding graphic cards, but I need a good educated opinion as to what to get. I need one badly. I have 7800 gtx's SLI and they have become quite slow after using my associates computer (same specs as mine, with exception to G-card). He has an 8800 GTX that fly's through my large models. Should I get one of these 8800 GTX or a 9800 GTX? Need some suggestions.
My Computer specs are:
Windows XP Pro
AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual 4800+ 2.41 GHz
2 Gigs of RAM
10K RPM hard DrivesEdit: I should have placed this in the hardware section. sorry.

RE: I have a Scale Question
Thats good information Wo3Dan. Now how did you get the 1.66667 number?

RE: I have a Scale Question
I tried setting the copier to 166% and that worked out right. I can now place a scale on it and it works.
I'm always confused by scale when drawing stuff by hand and then sizing it digitally. Although this was not being sized digitally it was being sized on a copy machine.
Thanks for the help

I have a Scale Question
First, this is not a Sketchup scale question but I have to ask Sketchup people because they are the best and nicest.
I have printed out a google earth image to the scale of 1:300 and for some crazy reason I drew a plan over that image at 1:500 scale. Now I need to find out what percentile I copy my 1:500 drawing to be at 1:300? -
RE: New google browser
I have been all about Firefox for the last year and loving it, but I'm now messing around using Chrome and I'm liking it so far. It is noticeably faster. I guess I'll continue to find out more the more I use it.

RE: Messing around with animation....
Dale,
Nice work. The animation in sketchup needs something new and I really like what you have going here. look forward to being able to use it.

RE: SU7 news!
I have been doing the same thing, trying out different software that is making progress in keeping up with the times. I love Sketchup and always have, it's just that in the last year I have been trying to find other solutions to help my work flow along. Sketchup is the BEST when it comes to massing something in 3D in a matter of minutes.
I think that we may have to end up using Sketchup as a simple part of our larger work flow in the future if it does not move forward in some way. I could be wrong, never know. I still love Sketchup though.

RE: Acceptable or unacceptable?
I agree with Susan. I think it would have been more than reasonable for the inspector to let you prove your case, and he didn't. Now, what was so pressing for the inspector that he could not let him take 30 seconds tops, and find the ticket? If the bin is full of tickets, does that mean that most people throw their ticket away right before they get off the bus, I'm guessing it does. In that case, it might be hard to find that one ticket and may take a lot more time. But if the inspector stays on the bus for the ride,(don't know if he does) he has a lot of time.
Oh well, I suggest you keep that darn ticket next time and you should have no hassles . I wish I had more of the facts about the transportation process, it reminds me of my college law classes and having to state the Facts, Issue, Holding, and the reason for hundreds of cases.
