Well I made you a more suitable example, script is in the yellow box.

It can be done without an extra box but this way it's very easy to move it around.

Thanks so much! Appreciate your time and help πŸ˜„

This forum is great stuff, full of helpful people πŸ‘ Better than others ive been on! πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

I'm new to SP so I probably can't explain much about why this works, but you might try the script in this model:

I was able to modify it to achieve the result you describe for a very similar animation I'm working on.

      Hey Wyatt!

Thanks for the help. Yes i have previously found this but couldn't work out how i could apply this to what i need. May i ask how you modified this to work? How did you manage to constrain the camera to the object that is moving instead of having 'set' position values for the camera? I really need the camera to move with the boat! πŸ˜•

Thanks very much for your help! πŸ˜„

Thank you! I have posted this request in the place you suggested πŸ˜„

I have looked through the examples you sent me however they still have this issue of the camera slightly panning around the object it is tracking in the horizontal direction 😞

      Thanks for your help

    • Static Camera Position?

      Hey everyone!

Is it possible in Sketchup to position a camera in a static position? Basically i have a boat that i can control using keys and i want to be able to have a first person view with the camera static in the boat pointing forward.

By having two cubes each separately fixed to the boat group using the Sketchy Physics 'Static' joint. One positioned at the back of the boat called 'follow' and the other and the front of the boat called 'track'. I have been able to position the camera by setting its parameters in the 'Scene Manager' by typing in the 'description' dialog: 'Camera track track. Camera follow follow'. I then position my camera right beside the 'follow' cube. However when i run Physics and move the boat the camera slightly moves in the opposite direction to the boat?!

Is there anyway to have to camera in a fixed position in relation to another object?

      Thanks for any help

    • RE: Twilight Render Issue

WOW that was a quick reply! Thanks very much. That does work to an extent however when i explode the image it then disappears or doesn't completely lie flat on the surface it was previously on. It kind of 'flickers' as i navigate and move the camera!? Is there anyway to get around that?

Sorry for all the questions but i also tried the Indigo Renderer, also very impressed but my images i import do not appear in the renders? I know i really need to look into it more but do i have to create special 'materials' for these images to render?

      Thanks for your help! πŸ˜„

    • Twilight Render Issue

      Hey everyone,

This is my first post! I am a newbie when it comes to Sketchup and rendering engines πŸ˜„ Basically i have been experimenting with a lot of rendering plugins/programs to see which fits me best for decent photo realistic renders. I came across Twlight and downloaded the demo and i was very impressed however it seems to have an issue with rendering PNG images which have to been applied to my model in Sketchup (File>Import>Image). I have simply just imported a transparent PNG (contains a word) image an 'stuck' it onto the side of a cube. When i go to render this you can faintly see the square out line of the PNG and also the letters in my PNG image have a slight shadow applied to them?

Has anyone else had any issues with the Twilight renderer and imported PNG images?!

      Really appreciate any help πŸ˜„
