you could use the (commercial) SimLab SolidWorks (or STEP) importer plugin f. SketchUp (trial avail.).

Import of NURBSplines as polygons only of course... if too much of them you may want use the (commercial) Skimp plugin f. SketchUp to reduce the polygon count (trial avail.).

with a recent SU subscription licence tied to an email address (and not the discontinued classic licence w/ serial data): if resetting all devices via the Trimble AMP ("My Products > SketchUp Pro > ...") as well as logging out, closing/restarting SU, logging in fails, you may want try to delete the according SU license status file "login_session.dat" from:

• Win:

C;\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 20##\SketchUp\

• Mac:

~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp20##/

w/ the recent user name for "<User>" (Win) and the appropriate version numer for "20##"

For fixing the issue in connection with SU v2018 under Windows open the following text file (ASCII)

Be aware, that changing files in the Windows program directories requires admin rights, therefore either launch the used text editor by "Right Cklick > Run as Admin" or copy the file to the Windows desktop, change it and copy back by overwriting the existent file.

Under macOS the file is located in the hidden folder (replace # by year of SU version)

/Applications/SketchUp 201#/SketchUp.app/Contents/Resources/Content/Resources/de/i18n.dat

Use the "Go To" command of the Finder for getting into that folder.

regardless of the maintenance status you are allowed to activate the perpetual license on 2 systems with no concurrent use, i.e. if using alternatingly.

So, yes, if you didn't have activated to often you can activate on your new system. If you plan to drop your old system than, deactivated the license by "SketchUp > Manage License... > Deactivate" being online, the activation counter at the Trimble license server will credit 1 activation then.

the registry file in the attached ZIP archive should fix this, save the REG file to e.g. the Windows desktop and launch.

Prerequisite: SketchUp Pro 2020 program installation in default program directory:

C;\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\

If using another program directory you can edit the path by opening the REG file with a text editor (not text processor) as e.g the Windows editor and change accordingly.
