      Hi kwistenbiebel,

I don't think the random element is ready yet, according to these resources:

I did not recognise the projections or surface operations toolbars - which plugins create those?

Check out this rigging work-around from Justin Chin via You Tube:

His website can be found here: http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?page_id=182

He is using sketchup to develop a comic book illustration project.

I'm very impressed and have been following his blog for months.

I will certainly pick up the game if it appears on PC but I will be wasting a lot of time on Team Fortress 2 until then:

    • RE: Cutting holes in curved surfaces

Hi there, using Entity Info I would alter the number of segments per curve used to construct the facade to correspond with the number of windows you need.

Given the example you pictured, you could have 4 segments per window plus 1 segment per dividing wall that 5 windows x 4 + 6 = 26 segments.

After extruding or building the wall you would then cut the window holes and create a flat face within them to allow Windowizer to work.

Changing the number of segments in Entity Info does not change the shape of the curve so the facade would cosmetically remain the same. More segments would give you a smoother curve.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks very much Teezer. This was so similar to my own method I have run with your hint about scene creation and made a tutorial from your original file and posted text - hope you don't mind. Very nice solution.

Very elegant solution caddict. Mine involved converting a segmented cylinder but the tut I was working on was running to 20+ iterations so I'll defer to yours. ๐Ÿ’š

As a newbie, I was going to ask about the best way to model a carbon nanotube (think hexagon lattice rolled into a tube) but these links to TopMod and 3KDSurf are going to keep me pretty busy! Many thanks for the links.
