Nice one Trial....Solo I believe you are right. Trial is probably the youngest SU + Podium user.....and talented one as well.
      Keep up the good work.

lol ...OK bare with me... I will find suitable scene and we will give it a whirl. I will by you drink if Kerky renders it faster.

I don't understand what do you mean by "And please also tell us how we can test it in Podium ourself..."

Hmmm.... I can show you scene where Podium will render many times faster than Kerky. It all depends on presets.

Nice one Stinkie. I rember those. Quite nice and crisp renders. yeah specularity is auto affected when surfaces bumped and reflection added.

    • RE: ..just a TV..

yeah ...I was just about to ask myself. It does look like displacement to me.
btw. I remember those antenas as kid....another way to enhance reception was to spread the foil on the curtains.

In this case I would put skirting board on the junction with wall. It would look better IMO.

True, but also render time encreases with more geometry, so one has to be careful and do it in strategic places πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Red Stool in KT

The work around is to pull the face a bit and create extra geometry.
The bump illusion also depends on viewing angle. Some angles enhance this more.

    • RE: Podium render contest

I am not sure how to reply on this one Jeff. You can pretty much do anything by scaling and coping from existing geometry. There are rules and you need to read them. Ok It is demanding as you have to create vison and ultimately translate it to renders. No postprocessing is alowed and size of the render is same as in demo version. So really anybody can participate.
It is ultimately about texturing, composition and lighting.
Nothing to prove but will to have nice renders.
      So...Happy rendering

Bump is illusion and shadow will always look flat-ish. I supose if you have softer shadows you can enhance the illusion. Only displacement could create 3d shadow...but Kerky does not support it as far as I am aware.
