Granted but now it uses your car.

I wish I could live in some of my models.

    • RE: How to get that real effect

There are videos on podiums website that give you a good understanding along with there forum.

Basically.....you have to select a plane within a group and then you choose the light and reflect settings along with its texture. Its a routine process that is time consuming but once you get on a roll it becomes easier.

Keep you head up and breath my man we here for you.Watch those videos!! They helped me in the beginning.

    • RE: How to get that real effect

O man...I need to save you before I happens to you. I am talking about the sleepless nights and lost hours on getting that "real" effect we have all fell victim too.

Dont get me wrong and I have been scorned on other forums for saying this but I feel the urge to save you from the apocalypse of photoreal imaging.Dont get trapped in trying to get that photo realistic image just yet, there is a abundance of literature online that educates on lighting, texture, etc that will give you understanding as to what features do to one another(for every action you get a reaction from the most hidden objects).Do your homework on render engines and which best fit you, there is so many now its like shoes and finding which ones are the most comfortable.

Final but not least look for the one style of final image that you are satisfied with. Some of the best images I have ever seen are right here in the forum and there are not even close to the "real" effect. There are watercolor, sketchy, canvas, toon effect, I could go on but just take some personal time to to some research on what final style would make you say...whoa!

Yes we here all strive to achieve "real" at one point or another but for my case its due to client demand for certain projects but when it comes to sharpening my skills on my time I am looking towards "sketchy","clay",and some toon rendering as well.

I noticed you have downloaded KY but in my opinion if you are just out of the gate on rendering I would recommend Podium due to the easy interface. But dont give up on KY as it is the stuff also.

      The End.

    • RE: Turntable effect render animation

There is a SU aniamtion plug in that follows paths established. I seen it advertised on the Podium website for $25. This would eliminated the pause effect you get using the scene feature. Create the path and let your camera follow.

    • RE: Modeling the perfect rafter?

Group your walls then go into edit of that group.

Create one rafter and make it a group.

While still in edit of the wall component intersect with the rafter.

If you notice at the birdsmouth you can delete the section of the BM setting on the top plate.

    • Scaling from Cad

Does anyone know when we open a cad model in Sketchup that it is 10 times larger in scale than what is supposed to be? And what are the settings to fix?

Yeah I have to stay glued to the Kerkythea update, I have been looking at Blender but seems to not be much different than Max IMO.

I have not started Kerk yet but sounds like the one for me. I love working in max but it killing me with time it takes to set up for a render.

If Kerk can become more user friendly than its going to take the front seat at this studio!

Opps did not finish answering your question...

most of the other images were done in Cad and SU ...with maybe some touch up in Max and PS.

I have found that software is like my tools sin the garage...some days you need 1/2" wrench and some days you have to use a 13mm. Whatever works. LOL!

      Good day mates.....

Just joined the forum today so....hello.

I purchased SU Pro today and I am going to dabble in exporting to 3d Max for some clay renderings, but before I do that has anyone done this in Blender yet? Looking for who faster Max vs Blender

I would like to purchase some reading material on Sketchup although I have been working in it for a year there is allot I still need to research, so what book is hot on the market..anyone...anyone?

Exciting stuff this forum ...seems better than most of the uptight ones I have endured in the past..maybe it was all of those complex software programs that sucked the life out of them.

      Hum....good one.

Four you say. How about one for each different occasion.

One for the single life person looking to get away and maybe do some social activity.

One for the romantic married couple on a honeymoon or anniversary.

One for the married couple with children. Kid friendly design but educational about the area they are in.

One for the retired couple looking to relax as they travel the world after they have completed the top three above.lol.

I have already moved on and deleted the camera.

If you go to the plugin page of SU and look at the bottom of the page you'll find it.

Its in the old page also.

If you get stuck let me know.
