Which version of Vray are you using?

RE: Ambient occlusion interior
You could make a double sided material that is Transparent on the back-face and opaque on the front-face. This will allow light to pass through without being to see out. I've done something similar (actually the reverse) for the ceilings of units so that I could get a sense of lighting by windows by look at the unit from above.

RE: How can change the light intensity of spot light??
Inverse square will give you a more realistic light falloff. The trick is that the intesity needs to be closer to the 10,000-20,000 level.

RE: Create a 2 mac lan for distributed rendering
When connecting two computers directly you will need a Cross-Over network cable otherwise you will have to introduce a hub/router.

RE: When i reopen the file, all material setting were gone!!
I have to agree with Holmes on this one. When you buy a piece of software you expect it to work. And this issue was not a one off problem, several people had it as well. I don't mind the idea of paying for Ver. 2 as it has many new features but to stop supporting a previous version of the software when known bugs still exists is just poor salesmanship. I mean even MS supports and tries to fix earlier versions of its OS rather than just cutting people off.

RE: Keep background from frame buffer
If you render it once and set it to save a .vrimg file you can reload that image back into the frame buffer.

RE: [Tutorial] DR Spawner V-ray 1.49.01
Hi,
I believe (and anyone correct me if I'm wrong) that at the time of rendering it no longer has anything to do with SKMs and their location. You need to ensure that there is a folder that all nodes (main and slaves) have access to. This is where Vray will dump its material information for all the slaves to read.

Vray Proxies
Just as a heads up to those who use proxies.
It seems to me that Sketchup doesn't recognize Vray proxy materials as being 'used' in a model, so be careful with the material purge button or tools such as TT's Cleanup2. I took me a while to realize why my proxies kept losing their materials.

RE: Shading and bump issues (VfS 1.6)
Emitters as in Emissive material? Its been strongly suggested against using emissive materials as primary lights for this exact reason.

RE: Shading and bump issues (VfS 1.6)
What I've found is that bumpmaps are hard to get sharp. The reason for this is that they all use raster images, so even though you've only used blacks and white there is still a transition in pixels between the two which becomes grey. I would say if you want to get the deep grout look perhaps change the color of your grout to a darker color to simulate shadow a little more. The other option would be to physically model the grout lines as there are only a few of them and they wouldnt increase the size of the model too much.

RE: Displacement issues
You can try to Set the Filter value in the displacement map to 0 to see if that helps.

RE: Problem with hi-res texture maps
At the risk of hijacking this thread. I have a Lap-Siding material that I want to be able to change color on through Sketchup rather than Vray. The actual texture will be constant with just the color changing. Is this possible? or do I have to make a new texture for each color?

RE: Scaling Materials on my Project
You are looking at the Vray Materials, I was talking about the SketchUP Material browser.
-
RE: Scaling Materials on my Project
You can change the scale in the SU Material browser. Just pick your material and click on edit and you will see the Horizontal and Vertical sizes. You can break the chain link to change each one independantly.

RE: Empty scene I sketchup 2013 with vray 2.0
Also under the VRAY/Debugging menu go to "Regenerate all Vray materials" this helped me as well.

RE: Vray proxy export issue
How long has it been frozen for? I know that I've made proxies of Xfrog trees that were larger than 22k and it did freeze for a bit but always came back.

RE: Vray 1.6 Beta: Sketchup crash when importing models
I've seen that problem as well. Try using TT Vray Toys plugin. It will initially load SU without Vray, so open your model, go to the plugin and load Vray and Voila you are good to go.

RE: Vray 2.0 importing proxy issue
Jack,
I'm not sure about your first question, but as far as the second is concerned you can use a Plugin called Component Spray by Didier Bur.
