      (workshops.ko-opmode.com)

I found this and figured I would not be the only one on this forum that might like to give it a try. I gave it a quick and simple try this afternoon and it worked with simple models. From an archviz stand point I think it could hold a lot of promise.

I will be trying some of my more complex models in the future.

      Hopefully this helps others!

    • 3D Rad Game Engine

I was wondering if anyone has tried out the 3D Rad game engine?

      Sketchup exporter here: http://www.3drad.com/Google-SketchUp-To-DirectX-XNA-Exporter-Plug-in.htm

From playing around it looks like it can generate executable files that can be explored. I have not had much time to play around with it but I was wondering if anyone else had used it.

First impressions so far are that it is easy to use out of the box.

    • RE: Sketch up for gaming concept art?

I have had some luck taking things from sketchup to unity3d. The beast lighting engine/baking is probably the most attractive thing about it. I will say there is a learning curve, but so far nothing youtube has not be able to teach. Unity3d appears to have a small but dedicated group of users. Though if there are other on the board I would love to know.

    • RE: R. Parker's WIP

Modeled the star case that goes from the loading docks to the main floor of the raised city. I added the kraken motif that I plan to repeat all over the city.

      Thanks dylan.

view 2 of my lower green house for my steam punk gas light fantasy city,

over 4000000 edges. I wont be able to add it into the final model until the end because it makes sketchup cry.

once again you can note the kraken motif.

more progress shots, heres what i have thus far assembled. I'm using the layer function which seems to be keeping the sluggishness under control.

I hope to have a render of the greenhouse like structure done by tonight.

futuristic memory drive concept for a fiction concept floating around in my head. I plan to post a few more views.

I used ixlrlxi/600v tutorial on this. I used gimp as opposed to ps so it didn't come out the same. I'm still toying with the settings.
