Hi,
I played with your Project but as i didn't know height for each line i just guessed?
It is so you can see how the 'From Contours' tools works. You have to turn it on from the 'Preferences' Dialog Box which is found in the 'Windows'

Just select each line and move to height. When a lines are at heights, select all and click 'From Contours' icon.

Feels good to something back to this great community.

Ecuadorian- Try the Realistic Glass > Plexiglass template and render with Easy 09.
Top tip will definitely try it later and can i ask which material you used for the stand? Ideally I'd like a 'Tarnished Brass' or 'Antique Brass' but yours was fairly close to what i modelled from. I especially like the glass.

d12dozr - Its nice! I'd make the base shinier to get some nice reflections showing...maybe the Metal > Silver template. Posting WIP's to get feedback is one of the best ways to learn, so don't be shy
Thanks d12dozr, I agree with you on that one

tridem - I worked around a lamp a lot, looking for a good setting between the lamp itself emission and outfield light, it's very difficult and finally for the best result i took the picture with the lamp turned off!
I think yours is a good starting work
Thanks, i agree with the difficulty, it's breaking my b#lls!

Gaieus - Just playing around with a different lampshade and a copper body
The bump you used on the glass, how did you achieve this? That bump and Ecuadorian's Plexiglass tip together is the exact finish i want.
Again thanks for taking the time to 'play around' with the model and give me some great advice
regards,
Rich
Have you tried the weld plugin?
Have u tried the smoove tool? I find It a little erratic but might help. If not the joint push pull plugin used in conjunction with tools on surface or the stamp tool. And I'm sure people will suggest even more.
Hi,
Don't post my models very often, i'm a little shy!
Here's a lamp i did to help me practice with Twilight.

You can download it from here if you want?
And here's an attempt at rendering it, not happy with the glass yet, but feel free to tear me to shreds

Hi,
At first i was astonished at the detail. Then i googled the statue and my mind was blown away at the attention to detail and shear complexity involved.
Hope you don't mind that i uploaded image for others to see it in it's original form.

Excellent tutorial Gaieus! Thanks
As for Absinthe....it's illegal here for some reason? You can get it but it ain't served in Pubs. I'll stick with PΓ³itΓn to get my kicks!
You're persistant and it seems your query is falling on deaf ears?
I'm no DC expert but I do know that the go-2-school site did a tutorial not too long ago but I'm not sure if it covered your level of detail?
Hopefully someone will take the bait soon! Or maybe change the post title?
Sorry I was no use
Simple and clever. It would be nice if it was made from more recyclable material
Sorry, I'll take them down as soon as I can
Thanks for the link
Here's my woeful attempt at using Twilight (Demo) to get a feel for rendering.
All components are from the 3D Warehouse (so thanks to those who spent the time modeling)

Could do with some nice lighting and more time cooking but it was just for fun!
Thanks Boofredlay for the chair and congrats on the win
