Bit of a wishy washy question to bonzai support: what do you consider the advantages and disadvantages of a hybrid system?
p.s. xrok, i'll delete/split this if its wavering too far form the subject of the topic.

If you want to get the file in some other format, feel free to PM me the file.
rocky, i imagine bonzai is a NURBS modeller but some of it is hidden (i.e. handles on the sphere object) to try and keep things simple.
sorry, thatll be $195 for v1 and $295 for v2 then, and $100 to upgrade from v1 to v2.
i know MoI v2 can export .skp, not sure about other formats though.
And i last time i checked, it was $100 for v1 then $100 to upgrade to v2 or $200 to just buy v2, so no price difference. From that id extrapolate that you wont get a free upgrade to v2 if you buy v1 now.
Really depends what your going to be doing.
If its going to be mainly a case of modelling in SU then exporting elsewhere to do construction drawings and such id go for 7.1 pro, it'll save you a lot of time because of the ability to export and because you'll be able to use layout.
If its going to be more of a case of modelling and rendering then id stick with the free version for now. Theres a huge variety of very capable rendering plugins for SU that all integrate very well with the free version.
One more thing to bear in mind is that SU pro comes with layout. If your going to be presenting a lot of models straight from SU this would likely save you a lot of time (updates in your SU model are directly reflected in layout.) Time = money and all that.

Ideally we need a NHS system, we could refrain from starting wars for a few years in order to pay for it.
As a very brief aside, its so disheartening seeing all the money that is spent on keeping the military going. What a complete waste of resources (in an ideal world.)
If you go window->styles->edit you can turn 'end points' on and just below that you can set edges to be coloured by material (which you can apply using the paint bucket, as you would for faces.) The colour of the endpoints is then inherited form that of the surrounding edges.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you try 7.1
I wish my computer would sort itself out.

No. Internet Explorer 9βs GPU-powered graphics take advantage of new technologies available in Windows 7 and back-ported only to Windows Vista. These technologies depend on advancements in the display driver model introduced first in Windows Vista.
Id add another 0 to the number of polys your recommending jeff (you on 7.1?)
When you say 'larger models', how large are we talking? and is there any particular reason you need shadows on while your orbiting? they will always significantly slow down sketchup, even with relatively small models.
