I have just a few shortcuts, but I use them A Lot.
F = Follow me
D = Offset
` or Ctrl+F = Edit\item\zoom extents

I wasn't aware there was a problem?
SU zooms to or from where your cursor is positioned over if you use the scrollwheel.
SU zooms to or from the middle of the screen if you use the magnifying glass tool.
So what is the problem with that?
Hi Etroxel
nice initiative
just one comment:
You can also drag a group into another group in the outliner window.
Something similar is explained in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OBljxmDLSI
Hi Fabrice de lyon
it is indeed better than the first renders... but not perfect yet, no.
Currently, lots of those windows would have rolling shutters... Wouldn't the houses have had regular shutters back in 1700?
You could put them just a little bit crooked here, straight there... put some curtains behind the windows will add some liveliness as well... carts and stuff in the street as well. Also the window frames seem a bit thick. Furthermore, you could add some cast-iron fenced balconies to add interest...
Oh, and some way of night time lighting? I think gas lanterns are post-1700, aren't they? But they must've had something...
Then there's the matter of atmosphere... I don't really get the feeling that those houses are in the sunny town of Lyons... more like Brussels...
if you like the gmail interface, you can also use it with your own domain instead of ...@gmail.com. I have that at my work-e-mail...
Whow...
as always...
Just curious about this:
Why would someone make a roundabout with just two exits?
And a minor point of critique: those parks with all those trees show some problems with the semi-transparency of the trees.
whow. I looked up the price on that one...
less is more. much more than I can afford...
That sounds like fun! I'm in!
That book looks good too, I'll see if I can get my hands on a copy

Could you explain what that means?
Google does that very nicely:

Nice work, Ecofeco. It looks very precise. I hope you'll make the entire cat. We can make it into a render competition then
btw Sang really gets to go places, doesn't he?
edit: typo
It's a bit dark...but maybe that's intentional?
Finally got round to also doing a little render of the Chair Loft.
Couldn't decide between a horizontal and a vertical, so I'll post them both.
Rendered in V-Ray. Tiny bit of postpro in Picasa.
sweet. but no one's using sketchup is going to profit from the specific strength of that engine: Nurbs. Still, it's nice for something like Rhino
Shaderlight can import Ies lights as well. It's way cheaper than V-ray. There's a free version as well, but I'm not sure which limitations are on it... it doesn't say on the site.
So cool
Just a few remarks:
The transparent parts sometimes show the background through instead of the model
If I double-tap, it zooms in way too far, and the part it focusses on gets darker as if it is selected. That's probably intentional, but I don't think it's supposed to Stay selected?
It wouldn't work though. It runs on blackberry or android but not on iPhone...
Too bad... I could use such a thing. Although it seems like an endless spiral for the forgetful among us: if you forget your phone, use a device the size of an eraser to find it. But what if you forget that object? And what if you lose it? Maybe attach something to it to find it...
I think there's a checkbox somewhere to say it's a double-sided material in v-ray material dialog
