Problem solved. I found that the server.dat file was pointing to the old name of the server.
When I copied the file from my machine it points to the right license file and now it all works.

RE: Weird problem- Pro features missing
I've come as far as that I know I've installed the Pro version.
There is some problem with it not wanting to use the license file.
The server.dat file pointing to the license file works fine on my machine.
Strange. -
Weird problem- Pro features missing
We have three network licenses at work and when I helped a college to set it up I get it to work but the Pro features *(Location under Window->ModelInfo->Location for example)*is still missing?
Does anyone know what could be wrong? I've even tried to reeinstall but that doesnt help either. -
RE: Best photoreal renderer for Macs
I think today might be your lucky day...
It says on their website that they are going to release a new version today and it says that there will also be a mac version.
Dont know if that will be ready today but you might want to check it out. -
RE: Shear object?
Im having problems getting it to function at work. It seem to be the same with both the original version and the updated one.
This is what I get in the console:Error; #<TypeError; cannot convert nil into String> C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/LibProtractorTool.rb;131;in `create_cursor' C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/LibProtractorTool.rb;131;in `initialize' C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/nult.rb;500;in `new' C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/nult.rb;500;in `shear_command' C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/nult.rb;523;in `set_command' C;/Program/Google/Google SketchUp 6/Plugins/nult.rb;523;in `call'

SketchUp wishes
Here are my wishes for SketchUp's future versions:
-
Support for OpenGL shaders.
This would be sooo huge as it would mean lights, advanced realtime materials like
moving water, refractive glass and reflective materials.
SketchUp already uses Open GL. Why not use it to its full extent?
Please, please, pleeeease. -
Subdivision modelling. Need I say more...
-
Make it possible to change the color for shadows. Not all shadows are grey...
-
Better animation control. I'm thinking a timeline editor with easy to use re timing.
As it is now it doesnt live up to the SketchUp idea "easy to use". -
Fix old known very annoying openGL shadow bug.
This bug ruins almost every flythrough animation as it is almost impossible
not getting into shadow with the camera at some point when flying
around buildings. -
Better texture filtering to get rid of the moire.
-
Better tools for landscaping. Sandbox tool "from contours" creates rather useless
meshes with extremely long triangles that are impossible to edit.
Even AutoCad has better tools. -
Better Ruby documentation.
-
A chamfer tool for rounded corners.
-
Surprise us with great usable innovations.
Thats it for now.
-
-
RE: Round Corners Idea
It would be great if that worked for a selection of points/lines as there might be cases when you wouldnt want all corners to get rounded.
-
RE: The dreaded moire effect
The moire comes from SketchUp beeing lousy at texture filtering.
That is exactly why I made this post in the Wishlist forum:

Let your voice be heard so that they fix it. -
RE: Shear object?
Wow.
I didnt think I would get such a great answer so fast. Thanks!
Looking forward to the nult box also.
I think it would be a good idea to let the plane shear also have a "deformation box" so that you could use it more like a tweak tool and try different amount of shear (something like the scale tool).
The current version is more suited for use with a known amount. In my humble opinion.
Anyway, thanks again! -
RE: Shear object?
Sorry if I was a bit unclear. English isnt my native language so Im unsure what the correct word is.
I mean distorting a object by moving points in a lattice surrounding it like a bounding box. With user control over how many lattice points there should be.
There is also a "simpler" way called shear in some software that works like if you were moving on side of a box one way and the opposite side the opposite way and you would end up with a sheared (distorted) box that looked like a parallelogram.
http://docweb.khk.be/Marc%20Keersmaekers/marckee/pav/oeF/stijn/Vaardigheden/Oppervlakte/parallellogram.htmI have often wished for a tool like this in SketchUp.

RE: Mover does not go
It only works with groups/components afaik.
I you're interested I have a script that is somewhat similar that lets you type in a distance value and move "anything" with the arrow keys. It's called jsMoveTool.rb
-
Better texture filtering
As the title says, I want better filtering of textures in SketchUp.
Really nasty moire almost every time Im using for example brick textures. -
Shear object?
Does anyone know of a script to shear/stretch an object?
Like scaling/transforming a bounding box. -
RE: 2 great finds...
It's almost embarrasing after having used SketchUp for so long, but some time ago while preparing a SketchUp class for some coworkers, I discovered that pressing the arrow keys locks transform to the different axes. I will surely use this quite often.

RE: My ruby's
Added small update to jsBackgroundColor.rb so you now can control ground color as well.

RE: Evaluating Rendering Products
I went to the nxt site and took a look at those examples. But the rendertimes???
Original size 1024x768 took 8 hours to render!!! And quality was nothing spectacular.
Thats extremly slow in my opinion.
I use Vray for SketchUp and like the easyness while still having depth to customize settings. All well intergrated inside SketchUp.To succeed I belive you should go for: Quality (obvious), speed, integration, simple to use presets, "In depth tweek-ability" (for the advanced users) and a open architecture for 3rd party developers of shaders and more.
What I really would want to see is someone porting MentalRay to function inside SketchUp.
