Now i see what you mean--that's a different approach to the same solution. Thanks!

Thanks going into every group is what I was hoping to avoid. If there's nothing out there, I can deal with it these different methods.

[REQ] remove backface materials (selected)
Does anyone know of a plugin that can remove backface materials from a selection. I use TT's Material tools which are excellent. But the actions seem to work on the whole model instead of selections, and removing materials from ALL backfaces is a problem when I just need to work on a specific selection.

RE: Toposurface/mesh: Any plugin that merges 2 points into 1?
Strange it wouldn't be updated for 2021 yet. I use 2019. No urge to update.

RE: Evening dip.
Pool lighting effect is great! I like the angle on the last one best too.

RE: Gundam at testing facility: Updated
That's EFFICIENT modeling! Looks great. I'd like to see if there could be more reflections in the textures to take advantage of the HDRi--but it stands up with this style too.

RE: Somewhere cool (render)
This is one of the nicest scenes I've seen here this year! Great feel! I do think however that the car doesn't add anything. Probably doesn't need a car, or could have a classic model.

RE: Returning to SketchUp - Changes?
When you look in either source for plugins you can search plugins by your favorite authors and probably recognize the ones you had.

Vertex tools has this features but is much more. You can choose any number of vertices to merge. There is also a command that merges vertices in a selection that are under a given distance apart, good where two meshes don't quite come together at border.

RE: [REQ] Copy-Paste DWG to SU
There's a developer working on a bridge from PowerCADD to SketchUp. Why? It's his passion, but also he does ALL the good PowerCADD add-ons and this would just be another arrow in his quiver. It's possible someone would like to make this DWG copy-paste script for themselves and then offer it to others.
I don't find the DWG import that cumbersome. I usually copy out a portion of a drawing to a new file (with only Layer0) clean it up, save it, and import to SketchUp. The clean up step saves time in SketchUp. But I don't need this more than once a week.

RE: I am preparing some scrapbook materials
Great drawings! Very much professional mid-century feel!
Another thing that is often sought today is diversity in the subjects.

RE: Patio pond: Updated
Doing pool water can be a difficult but fun learning process. After trying to depict it in native SketchUp and a pixel editor,I went on to struggle with it in Kerkythea. Even with pre-made materials, it can be tricky. I don't know what capabilities RayElectron has, but the next step is often depicting the water with physical based material characteristics using procedural bump and reflectivity, refraction, even caustics to get the effect --without a color pattern. Twilight has some good tutorials and support, which could apply to other software like RE.

RE: Saturday Afternoon Lounge
Relaxing setting--but maybe not if you're afraid of heights, that's quite a view! Light's good and fits well with background.

RE: Document is not centered
Does the tray in Windows sit on top of the drawing window (not good)? Though the Mac version is typically untidy, I always arrange the palettes in their own space on the screen.
Often a "Previous" command on the Camera menu gets you back where you want to be.

RE: Layout - Batt Insulation Pattern
I wouldn't use a pattern fill for this. I'd have a scrapbook image.
But really this is the sort of thing that could use some plugin to give you what most
CAD applications do.

Always handy to have some scaled figures. I think they'd be fine in LayOut too. Figures that are up to date, nice graphic quality (not distracting) for scale in your basic presentations. Casual persons, like the plaid shirt guy are good. Often scale figures offered are all business, city, and street people. Someone simply standing in casual clothes is good for interiors and residential scenes.
Happy Nowruz!
