RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Set up the Ortho view in SketchUp and set the camera to Parallel Projection. The viewport for that scene will then give you the option to select the desired scale.
that's exactly what i do. but once i select my desired scale for the viewport (with scenes done in SU). it becomes "modified"
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
I also found out that when i put a scale to the viewport in LO, that's the time it becomes (modified). so whats the proper way of scaling a viewport without making it modified? because when i load a particular scene from SU, it has no proper scale.
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
when you say "right clicking into the model" do you mean when i enter the viewport then right clicking or simple right clicking a viewport without entering it?
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
great that worked. however some of my viewports are moving when i re-click their scenes in the inspector? is there a way to may the viewport view be retained when re-clicking the scene?
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Hi. I just checked. the sketchup inspector says (modified) on the scenes.. so how do i fix this? or how did this happen? so there's no way i could update my shadows?
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Sorry about that. Where can I see the sketchup inspector? How does it look?
-
RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Make sure you:
- Update your scene in SU.
- Save your SU file
- Update the reference in LO
- Make sure the exact same scene is selected in LO with no "modified" prefix.
Yes this is what I do. How ever the geometry changes that I did in SU are the only ones that I see updated in the LO viewport, not the shadows. And in the sketchup scenes, I have diff shadow settings per scene. But when I look at the shadows in LO, it seems like theres only one shadow setting which applies to all viewport in LO.
Example.
I edit a moulding size and shadow setting(it already has an original shadow settings) in SU then I save it then update reference in LO. The only thing I see adjusted is the moulding size, shadow remains as the original one.

RE: Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Yes I updated the scene in sketchup. then i reloaded the file in layout. however the shadow settings that i changed in sketchup scene did not apply. To make the revised shadow settings apply, I still have to right click on the viewport in LO then re-click the particular scene number under scenes tab, then when I click it, the viewport moves, so my dimensions and text are all messed up

Updating Scenes In LO won't show shadow
Hi,
I am experiencing an annoying problem in LO. I've done a model in SU and then I did working drawings in LO. however, when I adjust the shadow of a particular scene in SU then update that file in LO. The only thing that gets updated are added geometry, no shadow adjustments. In order to make the adjusted shadow appear, I have to right click the model viewport then go to scenes and look for the scene I'm working on. The bad thing about re-clicking the scene is it messes the location of the model in layout! Which causes mis aligned dimensions with that wavy thing beside the number. Is there a way to update shadow from an Updated SU model scene and apply it to LO without having to reclick the scene name?

RE: Enchanted Kingdom Resort: The Magic Stays With You!
it's been almost 2 years since I last opened my sketchucation account. I'm proud to say that I'm officially an Architect already. And I'm now working on the expansion projects of enchanted kingdom (my thesis). Did I say thesis projects do come true? I'm glad that mine did. I also had the privilege to experience a design charette with Arch. Michael Lee (michaelleedesign.com). This could be my stepping stone to work for Disney someday.

"I didn't want it to look like my grandfather's law firm" - paolo-pablo
hahaha... see the design and you know what I mean! Wish I could build something like this in the future! I got the open layout idea from one of my archi books!
3d modelling with SU + manual rendering
medium used: kuricolor and touch markers, colored pencils, pencils, white ink, eraser, metallic inks, soft pastel
Whow this is nice work. stylish.
thank you sir! sytlish it is, because its not my grandfather's law firm! haha

are you an Architect sir?
Yes, but not practicing anymore. I worked for 5 years in architecture, but decided to quit my job to follow my dreams and start a new career. I am now a concept artist for the game/movie industries focusing mainly on architecture and environments the last few years.
Regards,
_KN

Nice renderings that show the original way that we used to render. Nice use of the media.
Your last pic (Senior's office) - I had to chuckle a bit as it reminded me of the old Get Smart TV shows and the 'Cones of Silence'. Sorry, but I have a warped sense of humor - no reflection of you or your beautiful renderings.
Rick
Thanx!!! haha honestly, what does cones of silence mean? haha really dont know that sorry!!! Thanx again!

This looks very interesting, I like the different style, I am getting tired of the lifeless "photoreal" wannabee renders. This one has a soul
coolThank you! yeah I prefer manual rendering too haha that's because I'm not good at photoreal rendering hahaha manual looks more architectural.
