Hello all !!!
I'm using SU 2024 but i also have SU 2019 perpetual license. I would like to use my V-RAY 5 on a drawing done with SU 2024 but, they are not compatible. So, using the Dezmo plug-in: "save to older version", I've saved my 2024 drawing in 2019 drawing hoping that I could use V-RAY 5.
But i get this error message:

Failed to checkout a V-Ray for SketchUp license.
Cannot connect to Chaos License Server.

1. There might be no connection to the Internet or to the computer running the license server.

Any idea ?

Hello guys !!!

I reinstalled SketchUp pro 2019 which I have a perpetual license for. I launched it thinking I would have access to manage license, but it's greaded out. If I try to open a file, i get that brilliant message telling me that I can use sketchup but i can't open a new file or an existing one ???

I have my Serial number and my Authorization code but I can't find a way to install them on my 2019 pro version.

Note that i also have 2024 suscription active.

I would appreciate help regarding that matter.

I reinstalled SketchUp 2024, reinstall my Fredo6 extensions and I can't use my extension bundle anymore.

Trying to edit a texture (simple glass and mirror) I have this error message. In fact I wanted to use the simple color and use the opacity slider but it doesn't seem to have an effect. I guess the question is: how to make the opacity slider effective.

Attached, a simple sketchup file with 3 tags. Some times, i have this problem.

Why do i have to have tag 3 ''on'' to use tags 1 and 2 ?
I tried get rid of it with no success. Of course i could just live it ''on'' but i'd rather get rid of it. How did i end up in that situation ?

I'm a french speaking person. Actually, my SketchUp 2024 isn't French but I'd rather have it in English, so I went to system setting/ language and move English at the top of the list. I have my SketchUp in English but everything is in English now. How can I have my SketchUp in English but the rest of my apps in French ? It seems that there's only one download for SketchUp 2024 and supposedly you can choose your language but I can't find all it's done.

A friend showed me a survey of their theatre that has been done with some sort of LIDAR i guess. They gave him a dots cloud and he has to make a usable 3D using Vector works. I was wandering if one can do something using SU with it ?

I lost my serial number of keyframe animation. Trying to get in touch with their support, i constantly get this message: Oops! Something went wrong and the mail server couldn't send your message.
I have tried with chrome and safari with the same result.
Any idea how i could join them ?

Re: Font not showing up in 3d text

Hi all !!!

Just downloaded a new font (LATO thin) in my MacBook Pro. it works well in mail but will not in SketchUp 2023 3D Text.
In fact, I can see the font changing in the 3D text window but when I try to place it, font doesn't follow. Yet i can access whatever fonts in the 3D window and actually see the font changing from thin to bold
for example.

Any idea ?

I'm a hobbyist woodworker and i'd like to buy myself a small cnc machine. My budget is about 3000$. I'd like to know if there is a brand that work better than other with SU(2019) or it does not matter since, from what i understand, i will export it in DXF.

Or could you point me toward cnc discussion on this forum.

I have another mac m1. I installed SU 2023 and i have the same problem. Su is in french on both of my Mac. Could be the problem ? French version ???

I have tried to install 2023 in english (the version i prefer) but never succeeded so far...
Always end up in french.

I notice that when i restart SU, if the first thing i do is right click on toolbar and "customize toolbar, it works... But it will not work anymore.

Hi guys !!!

I have a realy weird behavior here...
When i right click on the toolbar, instead of having the option of clicking on "customize toolbar" i get the spinning wheel. I have no other choice but force quit sketchup. Note that this happend with version 2023. It work find when i use my 2019 version. I have tried to reinstall SU 2023 with no success.
Any idea ?

Hi all !!!

I was wondering why on mac, i can open and work on a new file without having to close the file i am working on.

Often, i like to copy a group and go work on it in a new file. Maybe i'm missing some thing but, on pc, sketchup asks me if i want to save... Wich i have to do, closing the file.
So i have to reopen it each time.

I have another question for those who work equally on mac and pc. Let's say you could no longer use both for whatever reason. Wich one would you keep ?
