How did you get on modelling the column capitals? And the lion heads? They look great! Would love to see a hidden geometry view of those. Really convincing.

Great work Simon, there's something really endearing about the B+W images. Really suits the scene. Can't wait for a view across the water

RE: Knock out Aerial Drone and super tough SU Challenge
The DJI Inspire 1 is next on my list. I'm VERY jealous!!
I'm currently flying the Parrot Bebop.....so much fun!
But that DJI is another league! And awesome work by the way, I can't really help with your question though....

I bet that room smelled nice with all that vape wafting around. Did other people look at you with suspicion, or is vaping generally accepted where you are ?
March 10 will officially mark my first anniversary. Interestingly, I rarely ever feel the urge to want to smoke a stinky stick any more..!
Good work mate, do you feel better for it?
You will slowly disassociate vaping from smoking, they are like two completely different things in my eyes.
In Englad vaping is hugely popular. There are vape shops popping up everywhere and people don't look at you funny any more. Even the senior generation are picking up on it, I've seen a few vaping grannies!
When I was shopping I noticed the price of the cigarettes I used to buy.....Β£9.16 for a pack of 20!!! ($14) No wonder everyone is vaping!

I also noticed, almost everybody's interest over box mods. I can't tell why, but I hate them. Maybe because that shape it reminds me about a pack of cigarettes. Ooh, and almost all of us, we had Japanese cotton with micro-coil in our setup. Changing the wicks is super easy, I can't believe you didn't tried yet.
I'm still reading this thread from time to time (from the page one), and I think we had an amazing journey so far. I'm still answer "Oliver from Manchester" , when I am asked what droved me into vaping. So Cheers to you! Thanks for the recommendations. I rarely buy premixed liquid.....but when I do, I try and replicate the same flavour with my own ingredients. I just know everything I vape is safe when I mix it myself. Plus DIY liquid is 3-5 times cheaper for me than buying off the shelf. I buy premixed for ideas.
I will have a look at Twisted cheers.
Most of the liquid in the UK comes from China, but you do find some shops selling their own stuff which is wonderful! It's a good idea to stay away from petrol station and corner shop E-Liquids; all chinese crap with impurities. Or they have LOTS of sweetener in which makes the liquid go brown/red. My liquid stays clear to the very last drop.
I have found Italian flavours can be very good but the Inawera (from Poland) and Tasty Puff (American) ones are my favourite. But you like tobacco flavours so that doesn't really help. The only tobacco flavour I have enjoyed is one called Silky, I still vape it from time to time or add a couple of drops to my atty.
Yeah I should try some micro coils but my Provari voltage doesn't go low enough. I normally make a 1.6-1.9 ohm coil. They last me three weeks or so before I get hardly any vapour. Still using ekowool. In fact, I am on the same piece of wool from almost 2 years ago, still have the same roll of wire too! Very cost effective.
I'm cutting down to 6mg, thanks for the kick up the arse! 12mg feels like too much now. Makes my head spin with a new coil lol
Haha "Oliver from Manchester"....the guy who introduced me was a taxi driver! He said "have a few puffs on this" in his car and I was sold immediately. So if I ever see him again I will give him a big handshake.
Nearly 13,000 views on this thread now....hopefully it has encouraged many others to kick the habit.
2 years smoke free for me!

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
That's cool Stefan! I was gonna visit Vapefest in the UK but it was too far away.
So did you just direct drip into your Kayfun to test the flavours? I heard you can just unscrew the chimney and put a couple of drops in?
Did you discover any nice new flavours?
Looks like nearly everyone there is using a rebuildable!
I wish there was a Kayfun where you could actually buy the coils though....it's one thing I really hate doing. It doesn't even take long it just annoys me!
Currently vaping my own mix of Blackcurrant and Strawberry. Makes a change from the Blackcurrant and Grape I normally make. I have to mix flavours up occasionally as my tastebuds get used to them.
I've been using Inawera flavour concentrates for the past few months, they're really quite nice!

RE: Finally gone back(i mean forward) to a PC!
Did a quick comparison test.
Obviously my new PC is faster than my old imac....but just for giggles, here is the difference in Thea Render.
I can't use my old Mac GPU for Thea rendering, can't be bothered finding out why, it's incompatible.
Mac render time CPU: 140 seconds
PC render time CPU: 23 seconds (7 times quicker)
PC render time GPU: 14 seconds (10 times quicker)
PC render time CPU + GPU : 10 seconds (14 times quicker)
@Kristoff and Stefan: Temperature maxed out at 74 Degrees Celsius when rendering a longer scene. Thermal Status: OK

RE: Finally gone back(i mean forward) to a PC!
I don't even have or use Maxwell sorry! It's a good bit of kit though.

RE: Finally gone back(i mean forward) to a PC!
Thanks cadmunkey. That's exactly what I'm looking for.
I know Box, I'm not really one for comparing but would be interesting to see anyway. If even just to see how much quicker than my old Intel Core 2 Duo!

RE: Finally gone back(i mean forward) to a PC!
Has anyone seen a thea test scene anywhere? For render times. There is a twilight one knocking about that I could test with too. Can compare then with other PC specs.
Oh I know it's rapid, I just don't know how much more rapid than my old setup!

RE: Finally gone back(i mean forward) to a PC!
haha yeah i should do comparisons to my old rig it would be quite amusing!

"we found some hair" they said. Do you have a pet?
They tried that one with me too!! Seriously!
I took my brother's iPhone to the "Genius" Bar as it kept losing signal....
30 seconds in, after an otoscope inspection, the "genius" condescendingly pulled out a single dog hair with some tweezers.
They tried to say the hair is causing the problem. A dog hair! Anyway, 2 hours of arguing later they gave me a new phone.

that aside, why does the iMac have to get sent away etc? like, where are you getting that idea from?
Well when my iMac screen steamed up and hard drive started failing, they told me to take it to the Genius Bar. So had to walk through a shopping centre with a huge iMac. They would absolutely not take it away by courier.
They wiped the screen and gave it back 2 days later. Replaced hard drive.
Steamed up again immediately. Had to take it back to the shopping centre. They wiped the screen and gave it back?! They said trees in my area must have increased the humidity causing screen to steam up?!!
Steamed up again, this time I refused to take it anywhere and they had a courier pick it up along with my macbook pro which had coincidentally suddenly failed (logic board). The macbook pro case was also warping and distorting from the heat, it was a common fault that Apple denied. This was all during a university deadline.
Sent away to Amsys repair centre by Apple under warranty.
Amsys superficially damaged both machines. Dented the macbook pro so badly and claimed I must have dropped it. They also gouged the bezel on my iMac. Again, claiming I was responsible.
What the cheeky little b*stards didn't realise.....I had taken HD videos of both dent-free computers before I sent them away. I even had the CNN homepage open on both screens so they couldn't say the videos had been recorded months before. I treated both my machines very well indeed and this video really covered my ass.
So....Apple said they are refusing to repair both machines because "I had abused and dropped them". The macbook case had warped and twisted because I had dropped it. According to them.
I sent them the video. Silence. No more cocky Apple customer service trying to argue with me.
A week later, both computers were delivered with brand new cases and bezel. All problems fixed with a huge apology from Apple.
Couple of weeks later I sold the macbook pro and the iMac screen steamed up again.
It's still steamed up, but I don't care. I just use it for browsing the web now.
So yeah, not all Apple repairs go as smoothly as you claim! Maybe the US customer service is less obstructive but over here it stinks. They immediately try and blame you rather than say sorry and repair it.

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
Great info cheers. I was going to dismiss it based on the looks! And yes it does appear to be overly complicated. Bit tacky now.
I think ill be getting a mini Kayfun in near future. I tried all the mini kangertech stuff and the taste is nowhere near as good as a Kayfun. My Kayfun lite plus is still going strong.

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
Kayfun 4 just been released. Not keen on the shape if I'm honest but it has many new features.
