The dusk shot is easily the best. I can't help but feel that despite obviously being a new building, adding some very slight weathering/imperfections to materials will make it infinitely more believable, perhaps even just the doge/burn tool in photoshop. I think the trick would be to do it, but so subtly that only people who know its there will spot it.

      Macker thanks for your comment!

agreed, actually some imperfections in materials were added, which are more noticeable in the WIP thread images http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=333&t=48884, and then after final rendering and PS postwork for some reason it turned difficult to detect especially the dirt on exterior walls...

    • RE: Apartment building with garden

Carloh I agree with solo dont take it personal
IMHO your 'peek over the fence' render would improve a lot if you give transparency to your glass shader, get your self a nice couch from 3d warehouse for the interiors, that way there is something visible inside, and adjust a bit your point of view (put your camera inside the fence, half meter lower, that way the fence is not visible and the tree in foreground dont block the house but still it is visible)... grass, vegetation, trees, lighting, everything is looking quite OK...
by the way, what waxwell are you using for this one??? render suite or standalone plugin???

    • RE: Apartment building with garden

hi Carloh! it is looking really nice, DOF effect is well applicated, I would remark just 2 details: the glass on the windows is not glass or not transparent and the grass falls into the swimming pool (probably is part of the design?)...
your 3d tree looks quite fine! may I ask how did you do it???
sorry, the barbecue in the middle gets more attention than the architecture...
