That is what I believe I have been missing all along. Thank you so much.

RE: Is there a method to "ignore" lines during subdivision
Hi @thomthom
thank you so much for your response. I guess I am coming at this question from:
a) Is there a way to prevent the need to quadify the trunk everytime there is an offshoot
b) Or even if we quadify the "trunk" can we get the resulting geometry not affected by the lines that were drawn. An "un-crease" of sorts? -
Is there a method to "ignore" lines during subdivision
I am starting to regularly come up with scenarios where I need to introduce quads in opposite directions but when doing so, I need to "quadify" the trunk where the branch is coming off of.
While there is the creasing function is there something or a method of modeling that acts almost like an "uncrease" where the lines that need to be drawn to "quadify" do not take part in the subdivision?
Looking for some guidance. Thank you.

RE: SubD examples and models
@cotty so great to receive your feedback. I will be sure to correct the N-gons and re-sub D the geometry. Your work in this thread is an inspiration. Thank you.

RE: SubD examples and models
Thank you @tuna1957.
I saw this on the artisan website and wanted to try out SubD to model similarly. I am still learning and trying to understand the nuances of quad modeling and how quads get subdivided via SubD.
Let's call this "we're all different but play on the same team"

Thank you @thomthom. 100%. David Attenborough is a living legend and the planet earth series is just mind blowing.
Sticking to the planet earth theme.
I promise these will be the last few for a while..I don't want my excitement to get the better of me.

A few additional ones after using the extension Gradienate.
Vertex tools + Sub-D + Gradienate (for color)

RE: SubD examples and models
Thank you very much @thomthom.
Was watching planet earth last week and wanted to spend sometime this Friday doing some Vertex tools and Sub-D-ing!

RE: SubD examples and models
Very very new to using Quad face tools and SubD. Tons of respect and appreciation to Tom Tom for creating these tools.
