RE: Ocean House Resort and Spa
I spent some time adding more detail and texture changes. I linked SU with my photo editor and once edited wasn't sure how to finish the change, I ended up exporting the texture as a .jpg and importing that texture the way you import a new texture but I thought there was a quicker short cut to do that.

RE: Ocean House Resort and Spa
So what I have so far. with much detail to do not to mention vegetation and entourage. The antialiasing is horrible in these shots because some of the profiles of SU is not that great so I am doing some renderings with Twilight here.

Ocean House Resort and Spa
A little history here to begin.
Ocean House is a large, Victorian-style waterfront hotel originally constructed in 1868 on Bluff Avenue in the Watch Hill historic district of Westerly, Rhode Island.
The original 1868 hotel closed in 2003, and was demolished in 2005 and rebuilt from the ground up.The Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission as well as the National Trust began a campaign to save the building and preserve the site's public oceanfront access and beach. Several of the building's structure were cataloged and preseved for the reconstruction according to the now President & Group Managing Director Daniel Hostettler,A video done by Ocean House can be seen on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjQOQ_hdC_Y%26amp;list=WL%26amp;index=2 And their beautiful website can be seen here http://www.oceanhouseri.com
I, like a lot of Sketchup modelers see something and say to themselves "I can model that", so that's where this began.
After finding as many photos that I could I began the modeling, this was 3 years ago and after a few days, put it aside for work and other SU projects. Well I was sort of forced into early retirement and now devote much of my time in SU and modeling Ocean House. These are a few photos of the beautiful hotel.

RE: Need help with a messed up mesh
It's a resort in Rhode Island called Ocean House http://www.oceanhouseri.com
I saw it some where on the internet and had one of those " I can model that" moments years ago. I only recently took it up again. I have a long ways to go and lots of detail to refine but this a rendering I recently did with Twilight .

Need help with a messed up mesh
I imported a mesh that was Geo Located and have been manipulating it with Sandbox I did a drape, then further manipulated the mesh with Artisan. So I have some problems occurring. I wonder if there is a plugin or some way to take what I have and re triangle it or at least simplify the mesh.
Thanks

RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
I did do this right yes?

RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
I tried the " xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SketchUp\ 2015 " code and didn't work I did it several times copy and pasted Berry's code into terminal. Berry at one point said that there wasn't supposed to be a slash at the end so that's the way I used substituting my 2015 ver. where they were dealing with 2016, also saw some input from the SU team I think Marc, where they were trying a different approach by copying SU, LO SB to the desktop and creating a new folder of SU but didn't seem to work either for 2015 which I would think would be similar locations on Mac.
Thanks for the heads up slbaumgartner
Was thinking about going backwards to Yosemite but not worth it -
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
I did some house plans for a local contractor last year so he could get a building permit.
I was glad to see my somewhat expertise in SU would actually payoff but he ended up moving his business out of state so you never know what might come up. -
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
Well, I'd like to keep up to date and I will use 2017 Make, but purchasing a upgrade Lic really is not a priority these days.
So I think if I come across some paid work that I would need to use SU to LO feature I would probably go back to a supported OS X -
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
Yes @ Dave, as it turns out as I expected it's a compatibility issue. Sketchup has dropped support of 2015 in later Mac OSX

RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
No sorry SU 2017 doesn't have anything with what I'm doing It's all 2015.
That being said I uninstalled both 2017 Make and 2015 Pro. The folders in Applications folder ,
also the / Library /Application Support /folders for both 2015 and 2017 and the plist in the /Library/Applications Support/Preferences list like SU says on their website. Reinstalled SU 2015 and activated Lic. and "send to Layout is still greyed out". -
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
@ Rich think I'll do that.
-
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
Yeah. but these are SU 2015 files being opened in SU 2015 and using LO 2015
-
RE: SU 2015 Pro "send to layout is grayed out"
Must be the second because the first is not the case.
Could it be something with 2017 Make overriding something? Wouldn't think so.
