I had a similar problem, with me the cause was the glass, I deleted all the glasses on the scene and built with again, the problem stoped.

I don´t know why it happend, try rendering without your glass on the scene to see if it's causing it.

    • RE: Texture direction changes automatically when rendered

Try replacing the bitmap on the difuse layer to some other map, I did wth a "Checker" map. Render it, the put the a bitmap again and see if the image gets back to normal. It solved the problem at my computer using the 3.4 version.

    • RE: Showing different result on frame buffer after rendering

For the emisive material, change the 100% (R0/G0/B0) black surface for something little more lighter, you will see the glow efect.

For the glass, it's a reflective material, you made a single plane pointing the sky, its reflecting the blue of the sky, the material is correct.
Try ussing it on a more complex shape, like a vase or something, and inside a enviroment with something that the glass can reflect. You will see a diferent result.

    • RE: How to get this VRAY rendering style in 3.4

      Search for "Clay Render" Tutorials.

Try increasing the Size Multiplier of the sun at the light tab to remove the sharp shadows.

    • RE: How To Make This Vray Material (Fabric)

      Hi,

Use a diffuse map with your image in the diffuse and a white color map in the transparency, that way the Vray will display your image in SketchUp but will use as a material the VRayBRDF settings.

      https://i.imgur.com/V6u5vef.jpg

For the material you can try adding a black and white map (or light gray and dark grey) of your texture, to tell to the VRay where you want more reflection and where you want less, the white area will get 100% reflection while the black area will get 0%. You can make it at photoshop.

Its a start so you can achieve what you wan, hope it helps.

    • RE: Glass Refraction issue. Please help!

      Hi,

Try changing the IOR on the refraction layer to 1.00 or 1.05.

    • RE: Vray Glass

      Hi,

You can try this, it's a start to you make some changes and get the results you want, hope it's help.

To achive the result you want, first you need something to reflect on the glass, go to setting - environment and use some 360 image as a background, don't forget to change under the the UVW tab the first option from UVWGenChannel to UVWGenEnvironment. then rotate on the horizontal to the desired position.
If the background get's dark raise the number next to the color on the environment tab.

Use the Glass material from vray as a base material to modify the glass, use this settings.
To get more reflection you need to raise the fresnel IOR on the reflection layer - uncheck the "Lock Fresnel" and you can change it.
The color you change it on the fog color and fog multiplier.

For the Bump use Noise Legacy to get the distortion on the reflection.
Click ont the "eye" symbol on the top right to see the mapping of the noise on your model, then use the material tab on SketchUp to adjust the size.

Do the glass with some thickness, don't just do a simple plane.
I recommend use to not use GPU acceleration.

Try this and see if works.

    • GPU and CPU differences

Hi everyone, I was doing some testing between GPU and CPU rendering and got some differences on the image.

The left one is CPU, the materials are the same as seen in the material editor, the one on the right is using GPU, everything got more reflexive and the material reflection got blurry.

The same issue happens on RT.

Anybody knows if there's a solution to this?

    • Irradiance Map and Glass

Hi everyone, I'm having some issues with glass and the Irradiance map as the primary ray, that's the second model this problem happened. While using Brute force the render works fine.

If I remove the glass complete from the scene, it render normally.

I'm using high settings with ambient occlusion "on" and irradiance map, changed nothing else.

      Anybody got anything similar?

    • RE: Vray Proxy Materials problem

Did some test with another model, removed de default material from all the faces and it worked.

I found that if the back face is also a default material (the blue face) with will also mess the proxy. I used the UV Toolkit from thomthom to aply de front material to the back face and got a much better result on this other model, only the rims changed material.

    • Vray Proxy Materials problem

Hi everyone, anybody know a solution to this?

Sometimes when I create a Proxy some of the materials end up all scrambled. I purged all the non used materials but it changes nothing, the only solution that I found was trying to replace all the materials on the proxy list, but in this example, it got more than 70 materials and trying to guess which material to replace takes very long time.
