I've done a little playing and all appears to work fine.

RE: 3D Truss Models
Thanks for being so thorough, Nathaniel! Looking forward to the next update of your amazing plugins!

Yep, that's basically it (though I've also see the top plates lapped into the header as well).

RE: Foundation Plugin
What I've done in the past (and seems to work the best) is simply frame it as a door opening (36" or 48") with a 4x4 (or 4x6) with the top flush with the double top plate.

A few observations ...
- In residential construction here in central California the norm is to pour the garage slab monolithically with the footings. Some builders will pour the footings and stems first and then come back with the garage floor slab, but there aren't many. Our frost depth is very shallow.
- My preference for sloping of the garage slab is to have a 3-1/2" drop at the top end below the residence's finished floor slab and sloped down to 5-1/2" at the garage door end.

For gambrel attic advanced options I should also include the option for a crow's beak as shown in this model and the option to set the extension.
This would be a GREAT addition! Is there any logic to how far back along the main fascia that the crow's beak is supposed to merge in? Could this be an option along with the depth for the extension?

RE: 3D Truss Models
As an architect I know enough to get myself in BIG trouble before I get an engineer involved, and typically when I know I'm going to use a trussed roof I need to know some basic parameters - but most truss manufacturers/suppliers won't provide a design without an order (or a deposit). I really appreciate this plug-in (and bought it very early on) because it does what I need (and more) for a layout, spacing of outlookers/ladder framing at the eaves, webs, top chords/bottom chords, etc. before I (or the general contractor) has to pull the trigger with a manufacturer for the REAL calcs and drawings that are job-specific.
Thank you, Nathaniel, for one AMAZING plug-in! I wish I could convince more to purchase/support this amazing design tool you've given us!

As you can see there is still a tremendous amount of work that can be done here. To that end I've started a KickStarter project which if successful would allow me to devote at least 4-5 months of my undivided attention on the programming of this plugin:

C'mon everyone ... let's help Nathaniel - I've put my seed money up for him, what about you? This is a pretty amazing plug-in that can only get better and more amazing!
(and, just for the record, I've already paid (pretty early on) for a permanent license!)
Thanks, Nathaniel, for undertaking this!

RE: Best wireless multi-button configurable mouse
I bought the G602 - it just didn't feel right and I went back to my Logitech MX Revolution. The G602 is just gathering dust now.

RE: Do we have a Joke Thread goin here?
A man doing market research for the Vaseline Company knocked at the door and
Was greeted by a young woman with three small children running around at her
Feet."I'm doing some research for Vaseline. Have you ever used the product?"
She said, "Yes. My husband and I use it all the time."
"If you don't mind my asking," he said, "what do you use it for?"
"We use it for sex," she said.
The researcher was a little taken aback. "Usually people lie to me and say they use it on a child's bicycle chain Or to help with a gate hinge. But, in fact, I know that most people do use it for sex. I admire you for your honesty. Since you've been so frank so far, can you tell me exactly HOW you use it for sex?"
The woman said, "I don't mind telling you at all........... My husband and I put it on the doorknob and it keeps the kids out."

RE: Roof Tile Texture Creator
Around here it's called a "boosted tile" and is supposed to mimic an old, mudded tile roof. Roofers charge extra for it, and even Boral has created a concrete tile to look like it too (see here)!

Nice! Thanks for the resource post Kris!

RE: A little help with ceiling height please
I think that in the first image the door height is 8'-0" and the ceiling is at 12'-0"; in the second image I think the door height is 6'-8" and the ceiling is at 10'-0". But just my own guess.

DataCAD Pro $1,295 (LT @ $295)
http://datacad.com/store/index.htmlThe CTO and CEO regularly post on the Dbug forum and correspond with the end users - including phone calls! Won't find many Software companies that value their users like DataCAD does!
AND most of the new features are a direct result of DataCAD LLC listening to what the USERS want in the program and what makes it more productive for the users - NOT what the buzzword-of-the-day dictates.

RE: Battle of the Documentation Programs.
I've been using DataCAD since '95 and use BricsCAD when I have to deal with DWG formats for documentation (both are most current versions). Presentation is via straight SU.
