I just tried transferring the file, via DropBox, from my PC to my Imac and it downloaded and played fine.
I'm not too sure what's happening when I send the file over to a client. I've been using WeTransfer previously for other animations and it's been no problem.

Your extension is absolutely fantastic by the way, please don't think that this issue has any effect on how I continue to use Animator. It's probably just one of those things but I had to bring it to your attention just in case you had a solution.

One thing I would like to ask is about the sizing or dimension of the viewport before I start processing, is there a rule of thumb for optimal size, i.e 1920 or 1200 etc...

I generated two animations this week, after the update to v2.9a, and they both came out perfectly.
However when I send them Via WeTransfer, DropBox etc for others to view they are experiencing errors or corrupted files and the videos become unwatchable. The videos are still absolutely fine on my machines though.

This has only happened since the update, is there anything else I need to do to correct this? Do you know why this could be happening?

I've had an issue with v2.8a today, I generated a video of around 68s and has taken just oven 3.5hrs. When it finished it came up with the message box asking me to save and exit. I did this and when I opened the folder where it had saved to there was only one video at 9s long.

Not too sure what to do now, is there a way to get back to that message window to try and salvage the file?
If I have to generate another I will but would prefer not to have to start the process again if I can.

Any thoughts?

I have one example that I have taken a couple of sreenshot's of, please see attached.

You'll notice that some of the icons are missing or only partially there.
When this happens the highlight of objects also doesn't function, i.e no coloured bounding boxes.

Let me know what you think, I'll try my best to give you further examples.

I'm new to animating in Sketchup but I've seen so many good reviews for Animator that I thought I would give it a go.
Really easy to learn, simple but detailed and gives a great result.
However, I'm experiencing a few issues, they are as follows:

On occasion some of the buttons disappear or are missing segments.
Groups or components aren't highlighting when you need to make a selection when creating a new movement.
Sometimes when a new movement is selected none of the action tabs appear to select to enable you to make your desired movement.
A number of times I've created an entire film, which takes time, I press the save button and exit the extension. If I go to open the extension back up the entire film has gone.
Also, once a film has been created, I've saved it, opened it back up and all of my groups and components have moved, either reversed their original positions or are totally somewhere else in the model.

Really sorry to highlight these issues, especially if it's something I am doing wrong. I would very much like to keep using this extension but I need some help with the above.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a way to generate a good parts list from my Sketchup model which i can also document in Layout.
I have seen various cutlist extensions but I'm not sure if that is quite the right programme for me.

I design wine cellars, from wood mainly, but these designs need to be broken down into a basic parts list for costing purposes and the workshop. Further cutting and construction is done by manufacturing directly so something basic is all I need.

Any suggestions on how to do this directly in SU or a recommended extension would be greatly appreciated.

I will definitely have a look again.
To be honest this is turning into a bit of a headache, all I'm trying to achieve is turning one thing a different colour and back, just thought if I gave it a go it would save me time in the long run.

I'll give this another go in a day or so but for now I'm just going to have to do things the old fashioned way and make two of everything in different colours.
This DC stuff has gotten me well and truly beaten for now.

I have added swatches to the DC but now when I use the drop down box to select the material it changes the colour of the swatches but not the colour of the DC.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone,

I'm not new to Sketchup but have recently decided to try and start creating some dynamic components.

I design wine cellars for a living and have various models that I use repeatedly which I would like to change the material of by selecting an option.

Thought it would be simple but I'm struggling.
I've created two custom materials ''Oak main & Walnut main" which I would like to apply to a various components. When I try to add the material attribute in dynamic options I keep getting the error ''#=Material not in model:Walnut main" which is confusing as I have added it, the component is covered in it!

I'm probably being really stupid and the answer is looking me in the face but if anyone can offer some advice or help I would really appreciate it.
