    • Generating a bill of materials from a Sketch Up Model

After building my models in Google Sketch, using my own components, I use the attribute reporter plug in to get a Bill Of Materials.
There is a lot of information that I do not need in the csv file. Is it easy to change the coding to just report certain attributes, that I need.

      Length.
      Quantity.
      Number of.
      Description.

Can someone shed some light on this for me????? ❓

    • Using VB.net or C Sharp from Ruby?

Is it possible, and does anyone have an example of how you might call upon a .NET dll from within Google SketchUp Ruby interface?

We have a structural engineering package written in .NET. It exposes com interface, and we want to use it from Google sketch.

Why don't you post in the tool's thread and PM/email the creator - he is seeking feedback and ideas...

      Thanks TIG.
Sorry only a newbie to the forum, but thanks for the direction. I have sent him a PM and hope to hear from him.

    • Building Structural Tool

I have been using the "Building Structural Tools" plug in by tak2hata, which is excellent for the line of work I am in, which is modelling steel portal sheds using cee sections in this plug in. To be able to get this plug in to draw the section, on an in-putted degree angle (like a roof pitch of a house) would be great, and speed up modelling. Does anybody know how to modify this plug in, so that it could do this?

Very good plug in indeed!!! Could this be modified so that you could use these steel sections as rafters, and be able to rotate them at a degree up or down on the axis that you have drawn. This would be great when modelling steel frames.

      Cheers

    • Newbie to sketch up

      Hi all!
My name is Paul. I am based in Sydney Australia, and I currently use Sketch up to design cold rolled steel sheds. Hope to be learning as much as I can from everyone on this site.

      Cheers
