    • SANDIO 3D O2 Mouse! What we have been waiting for?

      Hi Guys,

I noticed a mention of the SANDIO 3D O2 Mouse in the latest SketchUpDate. The link is http://sandiotech.com/sandio_product.php

I'd need to try one out before making a final decision on this new mouse but from what I read it has many features that SketchUp would really take advantage of.

It's priced at $80, not too bad for a quality mouse.

      Any experience with the iMac?
I like to change to a Mac and find this could be a good start.
Otherwise it has the ATI Radeon card. Is this really a handicap with the sketchup performance?

      Burkhard

      Hi Burkard,

Glad to see another regular about to move to the easy life with a MAC πŸ˜„

I've only viewed the new iMACs at my local Apple Store. Wow, they are a piece of modern sculpture. I have read through the specs and think you should go for the model with 2.4GHz processor and 24-inch model ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO graphics processor 256MB of GDDR3 memory.

My reason for saying this is I think you will find the 1920x1200 resolution better for SketchUp and graphics in general. Initially I got a MacBookPro with 1600x1050, okay, but the new MacBookPro with 1920x1200 is much easier on the eye.

From what I hear the ATI works fine with SketchUp but it would be nice hearing from someone that is using one. I had no difficulties with the ATI on the old MacBookPro πŸ˜‰

Which ever Mac you opt for I think you will be vary glad that you made the switch.

      Mike

PS: I also suggest that you buy from a local Mac retailer. I have two reasons for this. Firstly, they will be be than happy to let you test SketchUp on the machine of your cloice and secondly, there is a very good possibility that you will be able to 'trade-in' the machine when you want to upgrade in a couple of years time. This has been my experience.

Yes serious kit there Alan. If you are getting one
don't forget the Big Brake Pack as Jeremy says !

Ross, Jeremy is a great character and a very tall

      Hi Guys,

This is a must for you guys that like alcohol.
Its the AWOL, a device that vaporises the alcohol
spirit (of choice) and allows the user to inhale
      the vapour.

It seem that one consumes less calories also and
the extra oxygen can help prevent hangovers!

Maybe Santi will put one in may stocking πŸ˜‰

Not yet Alan but I intend to take lessons.
My driving license covers me for a bike
up to 250cc but I'm going for a 500cc so
      lessons and test needed.

    • Hit-Air Motorcycle Riding Jackets

      Hi Guys,

I know there are a number of bike riders here
on the forum and I thought this might be of
      interest.

I'm getting a Fuoco in a couple of months time
and wanted to be as safe as I can on the road.
Reason = Motorists in Ireland have little or
no respect for bike riders of any kind πŸ˜’

I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the
Hot Air Vests and was convinced of their value
after watching the video. Probably staged but
      still !!!!

They are also suited to horse riders AND I imagine
cyclists could do worse thing than wear one !

The link the Hot Air Vests is here,

I did see it Mike and yes they were brilliant, mind you they have been doing it for 10 yrs. The guy who won,
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_5W4t_CBzg&watch_response
was excellent too, a brilliant voice. The fist thing he said he was going to do after winning the Β£100,000 was get his teeth fixed. What do you think?

I was torn between the Opera signer guy and the 6 year old girl. We (wife and I) finally agreed that the Opera singer was the most sensible choice as that kind of pressure on a 6 year old could be a very bad thing, she should do well anyway, just hope she has good parents that protect her interests.

As far as the Opera guy getting his teeth 'fixed'. I must admit that its the first physical thing that one notices BUT I think he should just make sure that they are in healthy condition and leave his 'trademark' alone !
