Yeah, the armchair jobs looks good but we don't get the weather for one, maybe the leather two seater would be okay

Thanks Jackson, its only a Wed to Sat break
but again I get bored if longer
Got my MAX ROAM card today, just in time as I'm spending a few
days in Spain so will be able to test it out. I'll report back
on how it works.
Mike
Jackson,
I tried to sign up / buy last week and did not know whether
or not it the payment went through. I've now allowed time
to see if it went through and it appears not to have so I'll
have another go.
Please let me know how you get on with it, if you decide to
purchase. It definitely makes sense when abroad ...... I just
hate being screwed by those telephone companies.
Mike
Hi Guys,
I've been in Spain recently for a few days and used
my mobile phone on a number of occasions for calls
and Internet connections. I expect to see a whopping
bill this month as the mobile phone companies here in
Europe really rub it in when it comes to roaming charges.
However, I noticed an article in today's Irish Mail
which seems to offer some hope for the future. Pat
Phelan, a former head chief and long time techie geek
has come up with what looks like the ideal solution.
His 'truly global mobile phone' allows both inward and
outward calls for the price of a local call anywhere in
the World!
His site is, http://www.maxroam.com/default.asp and
I've just scanned the info. It appears to be an answer
to those high roaming bills.
Do any of you make / receive mobile calls while abroad,
if so I'd appreciate your take on the service.
Hi Guys,
I've just picked up this 3D World and notice that
they have an article 'Modo gets SketchUp import'
They also mention that the add-on should be available
'as you read' but I have checked the Luxology site
and can see nothing about it.
This add-on may be worth looking at for Mac users
as there is not a lot available in this area BUT
again what is available is quite good.
I wonder if Podium will be available for Mac, hopefully
soon.
Mike
Very large library of technical components,
mostly mech. and elec., but useful. They are
also available in SketchUp format,

Hi Guys,
I thought I'd mention the excellent service I got from
BenVista, the PhotoZoom people.
I had purchased a Windows version a couple of years ago
and thought I might have to use it via BootCamp on the
Mac. I emailed them and told them about my situation
and by return they gave me a Mac license free of charge!
Now that's what I call good customer care :ewink:
You can check out the program here
http://www.benvista.com/main/content/content.php?page=ourproducts§ion=photozoompro_1is
There is also a demo available. WARNING!!! Once you get
used to having this handy utility in the toolbox its hard
to live without it!

TeckNet a-706
Okay its no way near as good but the price is right

Rob, that E-Ten glofiish X800 looks cool. As the add say 'everything but the qwerty' As far as I'm concerned the qwerty on these phones is a total waste of space. I've had a couple of XDAs in the past and am now using the XDA Exec. Its like a bloody brick strapped onto my waist. I dont use the flip over keypad as I find the on-screen touch keypad easier and far more convenient.
I think its worth waiting for the iPhone if its not in your area yet, I am, but again I'm a 'switcher' and want a phone that is perfectly compatible with the Mac.
I also read that we should be seeing quite a few treats, program wise, that will be available on the iPhone. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/breaking/fir ... 285830.php
Oh! and they look just great
Mike
Eric,
I wouldn't totally give up on Kodak. I have
a Kodak EasyShare V705 7.1 Mega Pixel. I
find the Dual Lens very useful for taking
pics of building on streets, where you can't
get back far enough. The 24mm does the trick.
Here is a link to the spec,

Mike
Bruce, I'm not sure that I understand what you
are looking for. I often take pictures of plans
and just use one of the scan to cad programs
available! BTW, I often find it easier to just
trace the picture.
Mike
Good idea! Now Eric, what would you be doing
that you would not like someone creeping up on
you?
Mike
I came across these two items this evening,
The Autorucksack, http://www.autorucksack.de/index.html
and the Pulstar Plug (8% more effient claims!),

In my books nothing that burns gasoline and is used mainly for fun can be called eco-friendly...
Anssi
Hi Anssi,
I partly agree with you on this but this machine will also have an electric motor / hybrid system. I also think that it could be used for short commutes as most of us at present end up in 1 ton cars that have three or more empty seats. This four wheel bike might also encourage people that would not otherwise consider motorbikes as a safe form of transport to have a go!
So I think in a good way these new vehicles are a move towards eco friendliness and I see no harm in making them fun vehicles at the same time.
Mike
Yea Eric, it does look like a beaver somewhat. However the 'tail' can be removed. I'm hoping to test this thing out soon so will see if its any good at chewing through wood also
Mike
Susan,
I did a quick search and found this,

Maybe problems? You might try to PM
the guy that was having problems.
Mike
Its the Yamaha Tesseract hybrid four-wheeled motorcycle! Prototype only so far but I have a feeling this little baby will hit the streets before too long and this one will be Eco Friendly It looks like the new 'tilters' are becoming all the rage.
