Hi fellow SU users. I have been having problems with occasional spinning beachballs and also hangs and crashes using SU 8 on a new top of the line iMac I got back in June. Here are the specs:

3.4 GHZ intel Core i7 sandy bridge processor, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1GB 7200RMP HDD, AMD Radeon HD 6970M CPU with 2GB memory. Running Mac OS X 10.6.8

Why on earth am I having these sorts of problems with this machine. It screams on amost any other software? Is there some sort of incompatibility I'm unaware of between Google Sketch Up and Mac? When is Google going to update this thing....seems like forever since they released an update.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've also held off on upgrading to Lion because I use SketchUp all the time for work. I encounter problems with SU in Snow Leoapard all the time too though even on my brand new 27" iMac with 3.4 Ghz i7 Sandy bridge processor, 2 GB ATI GPU and 8 Gigs of DDR3 Ram. What's with that? Is it just me or is SU way overdue for an update?! Adobe got all of their software issues for Lion resolved in like 2 weeks - What's taking Google so long! I rely on SU on a daily basis so wish Google took it more seriously .

Hi all. Can anyone tell me where I can go to get a version of SketchUp 7 (free version) I had this on an old hard drive and want to get this version again, along with the .dwg import plug-in. I need to be able to import AutoCAD .dwg files into Sketchup and I can't currently afford to pay for the Pro version of SketchUp 8.

Hello - I have a late 2008 15" Unibody MacBook Pro with a 2.53GHz Core2Duo processor, 4GB of RAM and 250GB hard drive. Also the Nvidia 9400 and 9600 GPU. Running Snow Leopard (10.6.3)

I occasionally have problems doing certain things in Sketch UP 7 ( not pro). On some files that are usually between 15 and 40 MB I get "spinning beach balls" (like an hour glass on the Windows machine) when I open the files and save the files and when I export to something like a JPEG. There have been some occasions where I have to "force quit" to get out of the program.

Any other MacBook users out there have any similar issues? It seems like my machine should be plenty fast to run SU without these slow ups/freezes. It's not like I'm running 3D studio max or something like that.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.
