May be this could help you. Before using photomatch, you may correct the aberrations coming from the
camera itself. Here is a link you could use :

Then Photomatch gives better results.

Ps : could you give us how you've made this small running insect ?

Just a small trial using Morisdov's proper animation plugin and Jim's flasher plugin.
I notice the flashing face only supports flicker when entire ( no separate items painted with the same
color)
