Al,
I imported the skp into layout, then exported pdf, it worked fine.

Thanks Chris
This is brilliant, works fast on my machine and updates automatically, I don't need to click "update". Is that something you have added?

The only little remark I have with current plugin (besides saying it is awesome ), is that after some manipulation, it starts to become difficult to see which points to move.
It would be great if the control points would stick more to the geometry...I am not sure if my explanation is clear
Is there some benefit in perhaps colouring the points on the ffd cube? I have no idea if it is possible to do this, but for instance, top points blue, north and south points green, east and west points red, bottom face black. Then, when you start manipulating stuff, it would be easier to see which point corresponds to what. Obviously the more complicated the deformation, the less useful this would become.

This is astonishing! Maybe I don't have to learn Blender for my organic modeling after all!
I second that.
Similar to Remus, I normally model the ground floor, group it. Model the ceiling / 1st floor thickness, group it. Model the 1st floor rooms, group it. Model the 1st floor ceiling and roof, group it. Model the site and landscaping etc, group that too.
Then it is easy to manage your model and make revisions without wrecking everything.
But that is just the way I do it, Krisidious is good at this sort of thing, there are some tutorials he wrote on this site somewhere.
LOL! My sister has a maine coon too, big cats but no brains.
With all the crap that happens to unwanted animals and big cats I can't believe somebody is genetically engineering another one. Also it looks like it could easily kill a regular domesticated cat and probably some dogs too.
Looks like you've exported the perspectives and elevations as dwg and then added hatches?
Welcome Ill Tempered Greg! I used to buy some wine called Bad Tempered Cyril, any relation? We are a friendly bunch, please join in
At school I played the usuals; football and rugby. I was enthusiastic but pretty terrible. Also had to play cricket in the summer, you americans should be glad you don't play it, it sucks; complicated rules and very boring. I did a bit of climbing and abseiling later on and got quite into that, would like to take it up again. In my twenties I experimented with a gym membership but just found it boring but did do some kickboxing that I would also like to try again - not to batter people, just for fitness. For the past thirteen years I have been running a few miles every day religiously and entered a few local 10k races, I should join the local club and get more competitive, this thread may inspire me.
Fair point Julian. I think anybody would soon outgrow an eee, I wouldn't use one, but it might be good just for portability.

Asus EEE is a joke, pretty much a gadget IMHO.

the Asus EeePC uses a Linux based OS, i.e. no go for SU
Asus EEE ships with either a linux distro or windows Xp, but it is probably too small to consider for SU.
remus
I just ammended my post on that, it ships with xp or linux, not vista

You probably all already know this and as usual I am the last to find out but if not check the link above! A nice touch to the registration process is a pledge you have to make to tell at least two other people to sign up, so I'd thought I'd go one better and tell you lot, that is of course, if you didnt already know.
Thanks for the links James,
The first one looks very good, I'll contact them. They are the first independant courses I've seen in the UK that are accredited by Google. The other Sketchup courses that I have come across have all cost about £200 a day for a fundamental course provided by a trainer with no formal accreditation or qualifications in the subject so therefore unable to issue a certificate of any worth.
The UK Google SU office in Wembley, London seems to be totally redundant, they were running courses a year or so ago but it all seems to have gone quiet.
