that sounds awsome!! this would be really great for conducting walk throughs!

RE: [Plugin]SketchyPhysics3 alpha.
just search monkey lander on google and you'll find it...

RE: A vacuum tool ?
what would really be nice would be able to use the rectangle tool for selecting only visible lines or faces, instead of selecting the geometry behind, and even better would be to have the ability to draw the selection, rather than be limited to a rectangle

RE: [Plugin]SketchyPhysics3 alpha.
so would it be possible to make something like that monkey lander mini clip game? That would be really cool with the thrusters rotating and stuff!

RE: SP3 feature SketchyReplay.
well I know that Indigo and Kerkythea both support animation export of some kind movie output, and because I'm biased towards Indigo I reckon whaat might like to incorperate this as one of the features of the new version of skindigo he is making...

RE: SP3 Motor Boat sample.
looks good, but wouldn't it be good if someone could devise a simple form water like in computer games or something so that you could have like a propeller or something or at least maybe a thruster motor as a choice of moor?

[Tutorial > Modeling] Organic Modelling 2d
This is my first attempt at doing a tutorial here, and i'm proud to be attempting it on this subject on this technique! I've found it very useful (my latest project being to make mr incredible, and I have been using this technique to make his leg, and I thought i'd try and make it easier for the multitudes to learn, at least the basics (in 2d!).
Here it is:

RE: POST YOUR RENDERS NR.2: WAREHOUSE
Indigo Render 5 hours 1333 samples per pixel on my 1.7 GHz that i think i accidently downclocked to around 0.7!

RE: Indigo for dummies
Hi Solo,
I'm fairly new to Indigo and have only been using it for about 3 months and already am enjoying it's creative potential a lot! I'm glad that you are also using it and am looking forward to what someone of your caliber can make in it. It is a pity about the rendering speeds, but with the use of multiple computers it is possible to speed it up. Or in my case i set it rendering and it is done when i get back home after school.Another cool feature that I noticed being promoted on this website was using component spray plugin and Indigo Instancing. But I've managed to make it work even better (and i'm sure the promoters did this too, but they just didn't mention it) was to make dummy components in their place like in the tutorial. This allowed me to populate sketchup with vast numbers of plants and trees.
I do use kerkythea occasionally but I think i will use it more in the future, because apparently whaat is going to add the capability to export from skindigo to kerkythea, which will be an awsome time saver! I've also noticed that luxrender is making a plugin for sketchup, this should bring the best of both worlds i reckon! It will be interesting to find out which one performs better: Indigo or luxrender.
In the meantime, in my opinion, indigo and sometimes kerkythea (only when i'm pressed for time or an animation) are the best free renderers around!

RE: [Plugin]SketchyPhysics3 alpha.
I've just thought of a great feature that i reckon would be great to include in an update or at least sketchy physics four, having some kind of interactivity with the water plane, like being able to make a paddle steamer, with the paddles actually being able to provide propulsion or propellers being able to provide propulsion. i'm sure that accurately reproducing the propeller effect in sketchyphysics would be hard, but maybe something like starting off making paddles?
oh yeah and another feature that would be great along side that would be sliders to control boyancy or something so you could make a submarine... wouldn't that be great?

RE: SP3 feature SketchyReplay.
oh i see now what it does.... this could potentially be really usefull for indigo animation if it exported to different scene tabs

RE: Cooperative Modeling
I will try to understand more about namesets works! It sounds very interesting! In the meantime, I really hope that someone out there like a game programmer can volunteer some of their time or ideas.

RE: Cooperative Modeling
Sorry Chris,
You see I'm not that old, and I struggle to understand your Nameset's Idea, that's why I wrote it, I'll take the comment back If you think it will help with this thing. I'm just glad there are people out there smarter than me who can make or at least understand this kind idea! I am trying to learn though and maybe one day I might be able to write a plugin to help people myself, in the meantime all i can do is try and suggest ideas that i think there is a need for!

RE: Cooperative Modeling
that too, I hadn't thought of that! That could actually be very useful.
there is a need out there... or at least a want!

RE: Cooperative Modeling
Yes this is what i'm so excited about! The possibilities are really amazing, and models could become much more fun to make with other people! And if it is speed people are after then this would definitely speed things up in the an environment with more than one person working on the project.

RE: Triangulate faces
there is that 3d printing/optimization one (can't remember the name but it is mentioned elsewhere in this forum) why according to the forum triangulates the model (i've never used it so i can't say whether it would be good at what you're after.

RE: GML texturizer 2.0
hmm maybe that was the problem, i'll try and reinstall it

RE: What is ruby and how does it work in sketchup 7 ?
A vast majority of rubyscripts will work in the free version (me thinks...) (Ones that use the features of Sketchup Pro like the 3ds export funtion and stuff like that won't work in the free sketchup, but then there are other plugins that let you import and export obj files without the use of sketchup pro) (I hope that makes sense) All you need to do to install a rubyscript is place it and it's (sometimes existent) sub folder(s) into the plugin folder which is located in the main directory of sketchup.

The development of namesets is intended precisely for that - visit NS website and let me know whether this matches what you have in mind.
Cheers
Chris
Kind of but What I was thinking about was something much more simple so that it would be easy to set up and use(like the synchronise button)
