Here is the first tree I made using the good old 'Tree Factory'.
It's not really a 'defined species'.

Thank you guys.
Your appreciation is inspiring. I am thinking of assembling an additional TREE collection of good 'renderable' realistic trees. 3D warehouse doesn't seem the best resource for that unfortunately so maybe I will need to convert trees from other free ressource sites (.3ds/.obj).
Thanks again for the kind remarks,
Kwistenbiebel
Thank you James
You can see more rendered images following this link to the thread on the PODIUM RENDER forum:

Hi people,
I spent a vacation day on making a library of (pot) plant models.
The individual models were originally obtained from the 3d Warehouse. I tried to improve their textures and colors (mostly desaturating them) so they can be used in your external render application.
I tested these plants using PODIUM render.
See my render results below.
NOTE 1 : Some colors of the textures are altered within Sketchup. Some Render applications (for instance Maxwell) take the default colors of the original imported texture. So Maxwell users may have to change the texture colors in Photoshop before exporting.
Here are the links to the models:

I hope you like them,
...If you do, please VOTE (rate) on 3d warehouse before downloading them. Thanks
Regards,
Kwistenbiebel

...Well...That was before you saw this
:
(By the way, Sketchyphisics IS cool , just to avoid coments on that
).
Good start Scottpara.
I suggest rendering it again without the bump (applying a bump can make the appearance of objects look darker in some cases) and see how that turns out.(you can always apply bump again later on)
If the walls still appear dark try to brighten the wall texture (220,220,220 are good RGB values for a 'plain' white color).
Maybe you can also decrease the texture size on that walls, but at the risk of seeing a repetitive pattern showing up.
So you're about to be a father.
That's really exciting news.
Don't forget to update this thread with real photos when that happens.
Cheers mate
Congrats Jason.
That turned out really well.
Do I notice a little pun as well?
There is a 'child' cutter on the dough.....meaning there's another one on its way ?
I haven't tested the option yet, but the SU2Fryrender has a function like that to get their instancing going.
It's not exactly the same but the complex component gets substituted by a low poly version so SU doens't choke on it.
At render export it will render the Hi poly version
Yep, Stinkie really is a smart and witty guy.
I must admit I am having fun in seeing people react 'funny' when they see nude, yet harmless, images.
Still waiting for a moderator to jump in and say:
"Keep on moving people,...nothing to see here"
@jackson said:
All I'm saying is if we shouldn't interpret certain body parts as being distinct then why are so many images deemed to be non-pornographic focussed on the breasts, backside or genitalia and the female rather than male body?
Just for you Jackson!
(Did this one several months ago).

Y...M...C....A
"There's very clearly an intent there, one which I find a little tasteless unless it's intellectually justified."
Well Jackson,
I am not going to say that the things I do are always intellectually justified.
It probably isn't all of the time.
Here's a mockup of a playboy magazine I did some months ago.
It was meant humorous....and to celebrate the Podium community at that time for becoming a lively bunch of people.

That script looks like a cool idea.
Being an architect I could really use that.
Thanks Tom and Eric.
@Eric, I should have said 'some' moderators.
Thank god for the open minded people. (cheers Stinkie )
Personally I had it with the negative comments from the moderators.
Too much nude, not enough Sketchup...
Anything else?
You're pushing me away here.
Great stuff Allanx and very photoreal.
How did you model the curtains?
Cheers,
Kwistenbiebel
Maybe you are right...but I just can't manage to model something organic in a decent way .
...To get smoother cookie dough you could export the chunk to Silo3D , subdivide and smooth and reimport in Sketchup....
Am I allowed to propose that?
Brrrrr....'alien technology'
He he
...I hope you don't have any song containg the word 'crash' or 'splat'...
