I concur...very nice. The textures are great.
Just one question...Where's Heidi?

Kristoff,
This is a great summary. Thank you.

RE: ?Moving from command?
Doesn't work for me. I can get the "From Point" inference but most of the time can't enter anything in the measurement box. If the measurement box does display (which is sporadic), entering a measurement doesn't do anything. A puzzle?!

RE: [REQ] Plugin Multi-View Elevations
Krisidious,
Thanks for the link.Tig,
I am rather embarrassed here. I did do a search for your plugins but didn't go past the first page. Didn't realize your list is composed of four pages. Your output is prodigious and well appreciated.KrisM

TIG or Rendriza,
Have you done anything further on your plugin? The need is certainly still out there.

RE: MasteRBedroom
Neets,
A normal configuration for the floor installation would be that the joints for the next row of flooring would be offset by 16" to 24". The joints would not line up without two rows being between. Hope that makes sense. This applies to all kinds of situations such siding on the walls of a house. I was taught this as an apprentice a long time ago and when I don't see it, things don't look right. Just my somewhat anal point of view.

RE: MasteRBedroom
myren8t,
- The folds and creases in the fabric items really impress me. This is best that I've seen. Great.
- The wood grain on top of the table with the chess pieces is gorgeous.
- The only criticism I would have is that the joints in the wood floor are too close together in some areas (2nd picture). No craftsman installing that floor would put the joints where they are. This is a modeling comment and not a rendering comment.
- First class job.

RE: Solid Tools - Bugs/bad design
I saw this comment by thomthom about another plugin but it seems pertinent to this conversation -
"I haven't used the tool, but common convention for tools is to create the entities they create within model.active_entities instead of model.entities. It also allows for the best flexibility. Since it is the convention with the native tools and pretty much all custom tools it is confusing if the geometry is created in a different context."
Seems to me that SolidTools clearly violates any conventions that are normally in force.

Those women walking in the Simfonia video remind me of the fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (if anyone remembers them...showing my age here).

RE: Skalp - Dynamic Sections Plugin released
TommyK,
Are you using a Mac? I got the first version on Sunday but there were some serious issues with the Windows version and the roll out was stopped. The Mac version seemed to work properly. Do you have the fixed version? I haven't seen an email from Skalp yet but that may take some time.JQL,
The hatches are related to groups but I didn't get too far with experimenting with it yet as it didn't really work properly.KrisM

RE: Plugin to make a hole in a group?
Fredo,
The only problem with exploding the walls is that they would no longer be recognized as a structure by BST and then you can't use the BST tools on them. The BST tools allow you to extend walls to other walls, extend to faces and mitre the corners. These are great tools but don't work on non BST objects. The only thing missing was a way to make holes in the walls which doesn't work with Hole on Solid but appears to work with your plugin.
The wall in the sample file comes with BST (its called MWALL). You can actually create your own mwalls which is really the power of BST. I will look at a mwall I created and see if the same issue is present.

RE: Solid Tools - Bugs/bad design
Definitely one of my pet peeves. The renaming and moving to layer 0 of a component I have performed a solid operation on is a pain. After all, I have put an object on a specific layer for a purpose and I have given it a name for a purpose. Why does SU mess with my part like this. I would like to hear the logic around this. I think this is a case of the programmers coming to some decision which isn't based on producing work for the real world. Now, I am not maligning programmers since they do stuff which is far beyond my skill set, but there is a disconnect here.

Fredo,
This is really good. I will wait patiently for your work to progress although my anticipation is at a high state at the moment.

RE: Plugin to make a hole in a group?
Fredo6,
This is great. If you wouldn't mind, could you do a test on the attached file. The walls were created with Building Structure Tool. The wall groups are composed of some solid group wall parts. There are some underlying attributes attached to the group to identify it as a BST structure which allows the BST tools to do various things. I don't know what this stuff is and don't know if your tool will work on the wall parts. It would be great if it did.

RE: Plugin to make a hole in a group?
That is interesting and unknown to me up to this moment. Good to know. You should learn something new every day...Guess I'm good for today. I think this is another case of SkecthUp doing something which somebody thought was a good idea but which is contrary to logic. If I want something to behave as a component, I will make a component. I could make the same comment with regard to the Solid Tools.

RE: Plugin to make a hole in a group?
I also see that I did the sample file in 2013 (thought I had 2014 open). Is your file 2013 or 2014?
